Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

We are under the jurisdiction of Honggu district Gansu city Lanzhou Province, which is a remote administration district. Honggu District was included in the national resource exhausted city, barren, barren, hut is the local portrait. Farmers were wearing rags, lunch was squatting in the corner to eat potato, and not to mention the living conditions, even adequate or ample food and clothing is a problem, many children have no clothes to wear and they had to stay on the bed.

2. Summary of Our Project

In 2000, the state put forward the strategy of the development of the west, she came to Gansu alone. With the condition of financial strains, she made full use of natural gas resources, laying of gas pipeline network for Yaojie area, so the masses in Yaojie area can use the clean energy with low carbon, and they leave the smoky days, make a certain contribution to the Honggu District Industrial Structure adjustment, economic restructuring, energy-saving emission reduction. In order to further improve the 'village households, for enriching the people action, better help local difficulties, disabled farmers to the road to riches, through more visits, plans to raise funds, expanded, income sources, in consultation with the district government in Honggu District Jinsha platform planning and construction of modern agricultural science and technology projects, expand characteristic industry, helping the difficult, disabled farmers on science and technology, promote the employment of disabled and difficulties, help farmers increase income, revenue, really implement ' village households, for enriching the people action in practice. There are 60 computer rooms in our school, the configuration is good; telecommunications broadband is accessed, bandwidth is 100M, the team member will use this network, and the quality is reliable.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

1) Without a camera to take a photo, we can not visit Yin Jianmin. Through our repeatedly reaction, the school agreed to provide camera, tutor contacted Yin Jianmin successfully through racking twists and turns. 2) time is limited. Our cultural course learning pressure is heavy, and we have to go to classes in the weekend classes, so the time is limited. 3) lack of experience. Web pages skills are limited, under the guidance of the teacher, we complete the web page; problems are existed in social interaction and communication, through the negotiation of school, we can contact Yin Jianmin, Ms., and at last we completed the core content of the web.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We believe that the greatest success of this page lies in the 'lecture' column, and we did the interview with Yin Jianmin in the column. Although Web works are simple, the process is difficult! If there is a chance in the future, we will never miss. We believe that no pains, no gains. The CPC Central Committee is concerned about the livelihood of the people in the west, but it is lack of such a good man like Yin Jianmin who guides the local people to get rich, Yin Jianmin's deeds worth learning.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Through our field interview, cultivating our cultural quality, organization and coordination ability, practical ability, cooperation consciousness, understanding the contribution of Yin Jianmin to the local residents. The event also helps my school curriculum requirements: the new curriculum reform requires students to complete 6 goals of social activities. In the investigation and study visits, web production process, students encourage each other and communicate with each other, not only enhance the friendship between us, but also enhance the team spirit, we know we should seriously study the scientific cultural knowledge and skills, through the communication with the Yin Jianmin, our social ability is also improved. Through the survey of social practice activities, cultivate our participation in the social practice ability, from the social practice, let us feel the importance of learning scientific and cultural knowledge, it helps us to better learn the course.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

In the process of completing the project, we used the telephone, computer, digital camera, U disk, record, software Microsoft, Word2003 Internet, Explorer Photoshop browser, etc..

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

In this activity, we play the role of 'small reporters'. Because we want to know how to be a good man, so we interviewed Yin Jianmin, and made a lecture about 'how to do a good man'.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Yin Jianmin makes the people in Honggu District using clean and new energy with low carbon. She solved the employment problem of laid-off and unemployed students, made outstanding contributions to the Honggu District of economic development, social stability and public welfare. She uses love to interpret the legendary life of a friendly Dandong woman in the Great Northwest. The annual income of farmers nearby was doubled, the basic necessities of life were improved, from the beginning of a small village, she began to inject agricultural development. She said, it is better to help them get rich than give them money, only the farmers themselves get rich, life can really change.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Software is provided by the teacher, the digital camera is provided by the school, the school is responsible for interviews with Yin Jianmin. Of course, the support of parents is also very important.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

Last year we participated in the web contest activities, it was meaningful. We were very confident when the teacher once again recommended us to participate in the production of web pages. Under the leadership and guidance of the teacher, our plans had a clue, with a strong interest, our work began. Think about our work, our work was also famous online, so we were confident. By taking part in this activity, let us get a workout in the relationship between people, and learn what we can't do in the classroom. In the whole process of interview, searching information online and web production, we also feel the importance of team work, and we know that a person's independence can not finish the task. This is a rare opportunity, we all cherish. Of course, the biggest harvest is that we have learned how to be a good person, a socially useful person from Yin Jianmin's interview.
