Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Haiyuan is a large agricultural county, after years of exploration, Xianxing potato, fennel, alfalfa, and other characteristics of selenium sand melon crops. Mainly cattle and sheep farming, beef and mutton in and outside the region greater fame. In 2008, Haiyuan County 'paper-cut flowers' to get the Ministry of Culture folk art named 'Chinese People 'time culture and art town.'

2. Summary of Our Project

Our school took part in the 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, page Fair Competition. In 2015, we have a total of three students participating, they are Jinxin, 15 years old, Liu Xiaoyan, 15 years old, 16 years old Hsieh Hsiao-ling. Our mid-October 2015 to determine the title page, the students use their spare time to collect, collate information, and create web pages, in mid-November 2015 to complete the web production.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

1920, that's too far away from us, witnessed the earthquake of old people are gone, we have no way to get information only through the museum, network and books.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We take the lead to learn how to prevent disasters of this injury, let the other students to learn through the website and mitigation knowledge, then students can tell their parents back home, so that more people understand the scientific and effective way to escape, can do this a little bit, we would be very happy.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Earthquake is a natural phenomenon that humans can not be changed, but the earthquake but by scientific prevention and effective organization, active rescue and greatly reduced shock to strengthen education, and enhance disaster mitigation mean, let us cherish life, away from harm.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We are collecting and processing information on the production process to use a computer, scanner, digital camera and other tools, software technical support thanks to Town and only company to provide Ciss platform, which is very easy to use.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Net Fair provides us with a good practical lesson to learn, exercise platform. As usual the students learning time is tight, we can only spare time and weekends to complete the production site. The production process, the students did not fall culture courses, but also enrich the extracurricular lives of students

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Rather a thousand days does not shock, not live a day without defense, to remind you again, Earthquake Disaster Mitigation, cherish life.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Haiyuan County Library and museum managers are very pleased for us to explain and provide relevant information.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)
