First, we’ve learned a lot about Douhua, second, we’ve learned how to surf the Internet for some information, and increase our capacity to handle computer. Third, learned the communities or conversations, enhanced our distribution skills. Although our web site was very raw, we were still happy because of the 'focus on participation”.

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:1

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:more than 6

E. Additional comments concerning your computer and/or Internet access (Optional):

Because of internet access in computer classroom in our school, we could build web site at school.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

This is our first time to take part in web page making competition. There are many specialties in our hometown. It made us all surprised when teacher told us school won a prize by posting on a Web site under the subject of “Caotian walnut”. We hope we would achieve a good result on “Douhua with pickled sour juice”. So we started to find information, to visit school canteen, in which canteen staffs supported us, unfortunately, we did not try to cook by ourselves. But we shall have many opportunities of try cooking during the school holidays.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Having Douhua rice everyday, never thought we would make it available on a web page, which made us very excited. We felt that there is knowledge in our life.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

There are many local flavors in Caotian district, but students know little about local foods’ cooking. The new teaching reform asks for a school-based textbook development. So, we thought about studying local foods around us, and took it as our local courses, so that we undertake the work of publicity in our district tourism business.
