1. Description of Our Community
HaiShi Bay is the location of the government of Honggu district and is the political, cultural and economic center of the region. It is where the world famous fossil Mamenx dinosaurs unearthed, and also a newly emerging modern satellite town, known as 'Babao River leader 'and the' Gansu Metallurgy Valley”. The Town of Haishi Bay is located in the middle of Lanzhou, Gansu and Qinghai, Xining, the two capital cities, each with a distance of 110 km. The 109 State Road and Lan-Qing railway across the whole territory of the town and made it the connecting roads of Qinghai-Tibet. The average elevation was 1770 meters, the annual average temperature was 7.1 ? -9.1 ? and the total area of 32 square kilometers, covering three administrative villages and five communities, with a total population of 35240, including 5370 rural population, the existing arable land was 3417 mu.
2. Summary of Our Project
As a place full of barren mountains, honggu district is the place that our students form the Lan zhou 17th middle school lives. Through our debates, we finally decide to choose ‘Chinese dream of a barren mountain’ as our theme. We have known the current situation of the local barren mountain greening, further studied the team consists of members form our QQ group named ‘Green friend and loving forest’ for compulsory tree planting and barren mountain greening, composed community compulsory tree planting and barren mountain greening related articles. Me and my team had attended their activities like planting tree on the mountain and watering the tree. We finally decided to join their team after I felt the bitterness and happiness from those activities. We insist going up to the mountain and water the trees, I believe we will fulfill the Chinese dream of a barren mountain—Green dream through efforts

The school has a computer network, 6M optical fiber is accessed, all offices and e-lesson preparation office have been connected to the network, but the two computer rooms, one server (Windows2003 system), the teacher machine (windows XP system), the client 100 (windows XP), also have no internet access, besides the computer is backward in our school with bad allocation, the speed is slow. 4. Problems We Had To Overcome
This is the first time for us to take part in the network game, so we don't have any experience, but in the teacher's introduction and guidance, we gradually came into the role, and invited to participate in the network competition.
1, Cyberfair project has a huge demand for writing, but the mid-term exam is coming, the learning task is very nervous, it is usually difficult to squeeze time to write, so we have to write in the weekend time, sometimes carry out activities in the class time.
2, We have met problems doing interviews. For instance, when we were interviewing ‘green friends and loving plantation’ members, we have to deal with members from different age, sex, companies, careers and addresses. So we encountered many troubles during our interviews, like they’re reluctant to want to give us their names and addresses which made our interview really hard.
3,The time is short, task is heavy. When we learned that we can participate in this competition, it has arrived at the end of October, and then we began to form a team, analysis local characteristics, resources and our school's existing problems, referring to the recent years contest, finally, after discussion and analysis, we determine the research topic -- 'Chinese dream of an barren mountain'.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Through participating in Webpage competition, we experienced a lot of things. The teacher organized our competition, we were at a loss; registering on the Internet, we were excited; the first time to use a digital camera, we were careful; the first time to communicate with the teachers in the town and talent, we felt very fresh; the first time to create a website, making Webpage, I have some actions with confusion; the first time to step into the society, we feel uncomfortable, but we really experience happiness to participate in Webpage contest of town and talent, know local situation of air freshener. In the process of the network competition, we learned and grew a lot. Although we also participated in a similar game before, but this time the game left a deep impact for me. Although there are a lot of difficulties to make Webpage, we will work hard to overcome, dedicated the best work to everyone.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
In the information technology lesson, we make full use of the knowledge, to make Webpage on the computer, we have been consolidated and development. The second class, we learned some basic knowledge of Webpage production technology, Institute of image processing. Furthermore, deepen our understanding of the computer and network, exercise our ability.
Our network research activities were held across school, The website 'Chinese dream of a Barren Mountain' we build became our school teaching material, which make our Webpage work becomes the network position which can lead education, school, community to protect environment.
Through the school network platform, we make our own made website displayed to students in class through the internet, which stimulate students’ interest in learning, develop students' language knowledge, and enhance their awareness of environmental protection. Through reading outside class, holding class meeting, watching ideological and moral lessons, learning, understanding and thematic teaching activities and other forms of student activities, to further deepen the ideological education of protecting environment for the students, at the same time, improve students' reading and writing ability, communication ability, aesthetic ability. Enrich the campus culture.
