1. Description of Our Community

Our school, MBUO CSS#20, is located in Cossacks village Bryukhovetskaya, Krasnodar Territory, Russia. It is situated in the centre of the village not far from the central hospital in Lenin Street. First it was a Pioneer House where the children came to do different creative activities and now it is a compulsory secondary school. In 2014 it was twenty-five years old. It’s so convenient for students to go to school because they live in neighborhood. Our school is in the list of 100 best schools of Russia. Our students and teachers became the winners of different Olympiads and competitions in different subjects; they are very talented and creative. We took part in various conferences, exhibitions, seminars, concerts, outdoor events, festivals, sports competitions and won All-Russian and International awards many times. We decided to choose Category: 5. Local attractions (Natural and Man-made) for our project.

We can learn much from our public library and local museum, newspapers and magazines, local inhabitants. We prepared a lot of presentations of collected materials. 4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We had difficulties in lack of time to take photoes and interviews — Our pupils are involved in activities in Art school besides secondary school. The pupils haven't got experience in interview of people. Trere isn't a studio at school. The pupils could prepare only Power-Point presentations.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

With the help of Mrs. Sukach, our English teacher who suggested us to take part in this project, we chose the title of the project, prepared a draft, edited our presentations, took photoes for them, visited our local museum and district library, went along the streets(there are 45 streets in our village)to find interesting places and to interview local inhabitants. First we thought that it would be easy but then we found out that it wasn't so. It took us a lot of time and energy.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Our Cyberfair project is based on Federal State Educational Standards administrated by the Ministry of Education. This programme equips students with carry-on capabilities such as: to work in team(self-express,communicate, and share), to participate in research work (plan, organize, and execute),to adopt technology and information. The pupils obtain such skills as:English language learning( we practiced in listening, speaking, reading and writing). We had to traslate collected materials from Russian into English. Our project work gave us opportunity to make friends with many new people. Besides our work helped us to come to new levels of interactions between teachers and students. Using of Information Technologies united us in completing the tasks of the project. Our team often met in our clacc to exchange the collected materials because we needed to place all the materials in the file of the project.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We used different technology tools for different tasks. 1)Visits: we visited different streets of our village, local museum and district library. We used digital cameras and smart phones to take photoes of interesting places. We also recorded and noted the descriptions of places with pens and paper. We used video and audio recorder to record our interviews and keep notes at the same time. And then we used word processing software on our computers to draft, edit and print out our collected materials.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

We devoted our project to anniversary of liberation of our village from Nazy invaders in the Great Patriotic War. We celebrated this anniversary on the 10th of February. There was a gala meeting at school on that day. And we announced about the project to the pupils. Besides we conducted the lessons where the pupils showed there presentations It will help our classmates to learn more interesting things about our hometown. When we went to the library we also told about the content of our project. And we wrote an article to local newspaper about the project.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We have already placed our project to our school web sight. A lot of people have learnt about our work. They say that our work is necessary and useful. It will help people abroad to learn more about our country and its history.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Thanks to the principal of our school, Mr. Kanunnikov , we were able to use our computer equipment at school for work with our project. Thanks to the assistant-principle, Mrs. Kanunnikova, we could publish an article devoted to our project in local newspaper and the inhabitants of our village learnt about our work. Thanks to Mrs. Sukach, our English teacher for her help in finding out and help in completing the project. Thanks to our parents for their permission to participate in this project. Thanks to our school librarian, Mrs.Klintukh, who helped us a lot in finding necessary books. Thanks to our IT teacher, Mrs. Zhurova, who helped us to place our project to the school site..

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

During our work of collecting the material for our project we learnt a lot of new and interesting things about the monuments built by the Cossacks of Bryukhovetskiy district Cossack Society. The monument is all that you have done to facilitate memory in order to remember or commemorate the matter, not to forget things. Each tree has its roots. And the deeper they go into the ground, the stronger and more powerful gun. Each rise in the history associated with the reference to the past, the old, the revival of old, save it, their roots... Our society is vital in-depth knowledge of its history. Cossacks - the phenomenon is unique to our country to such an extent that to imagine without him the past is not possible. History of the Cossacks attracts people: I want to know her all the grandeur and diversity. Because the monuments are not silent.
