1. Description of Our Community
Our local community is named after Shenkeng District. It is a rural district in central New Taipei City in northern Taiwan. Formerly an agricultural and mining town, it is now famous for its numerous tofu restaurants and vendors.The area is first recorded as the preserve of a tribe of Pingpu aborigines during the Qing dynasty period in Taiwan. When Han Chinese farmers eventually moved in to develop the area, they bought the low-lying land from the aborigines and began cultivation in the main valley.[1] The modern name of the township, Shenkeng, literally means deep pit or deep mine, and indeed the area used to have several active coal mines.
2. Summary of Our Project
Shenkeng is a small town which is always known by the famous tofu meal. But actually, there are so many wonderful things that people never know. Shenkeng has the most mountain hiking trails in New Taipei City, and you can totally enjoy the natural atmosphere when walking on the trails.We also have the best tofu dishes.Thousands of people always come here to have the delicious food. And Shenkeng Old Street is always full of visitors. Everyone come here to experience the old fashion during the holidays. There are a lot we want ot introduce about Shenkeng. Shenkeng is waiting for your coming, why don't you come here for once?

4. Problems We Had To Overcome
Creating our web pages is hard for us because we aren't so good at computer skills.We got a lot of problems in the program.We are wondering how to edit pictures, videos, send the files to each other. And also the weather is our enemy.We can't take the fine pictures because of the bad weather. Fortunately, everybody of us doesn't blame about it but work harder to overcome the issues.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
By making the webpage, we know more about our community, Shenkeng. And after the participation, we know how to work with my classmates.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
1.Language:writing articles, making questions for the interview. 2.Social studies:we can know more history about our community. 3.Art:take photos, edit photos.the design of the website. 4.Computer and imformation: Use the Google Maps to check the location. Text file editing.
