Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

This is a village where is covered gully and slope everywhere, here scenery is beautiful; the people here began to live a happy life. This is our persimmon Town -- He Liu During the interview, we met an old grandpa, he told us here persimmon story: 'many years ago, the valley was very poor, people relied on migrant workers to bring home. The food was not enough every year, people start thinking about what kind of food should be planted? The Persimmon was famous here, so some people suggested to plant more persimmons to sell, most of the people were agreed. After a few years, there are persimmon trees all over the mountains and plains, the people began to worry how to sell. Because at that time, the village traffic was bad, especially in the rainy days, so people can only look at the covered everywhere persimmons were bad on the tree. A persimmon processing plant was appeared in the village until 2011, factory people repaired the road for us, it was not only convenient for people to pick persimmons, and the persimmons were in good sales. The villagers also can make use of spare time to earn some monry in the factory.' Grandpa said here with a smile.

2. Summary of Our Project

One of 2 tutors in this activity who was the information technology teacher, they offered the computers for the students who participate in the activities; students can promptly collate information, collect data access. But the students who participated in the activities are very busy, it was not easy that they can only take part in the activity after finished the homework, but the students had a great harvest. All the difficulties are overcome, the students constantly created hope with their own idea. This is the fourth time to attend CyberFair, view is not wide enough, and our ability is limited, we are not familiar with the topic, so the Webpage isn't so very satisfied. But let us understand a truth, nothing is difficult, if you put your heart into it. We will use what we learn, to create a perfect website.

The theme mainly researched by interviews and observations, so in addition to using the telephone appointment, in the interview process, we also know persimmon uses with the interview chance , and publicized our research program to each person. We often discuss, let the students do some investigation in the farmers home , let the students have a deeper understanding of persimmon. Sometimes to go to persimmon plant to investigate, in the course of the investigation, students specialized to do the record, so that the villagers all know persimmon role and the purpose of the organization.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

In the project, many villagers gave us a lot of help. Several times we went into the village; the villagers actively introduced the use and practice of persimmon for us. There was an old man took us to the ground of big persimmon tree, explained the persimmon tree history for us. He told us a lot of things happened here, there was a great help for our investigation.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Members in our team are all very excellent. When we talked about the theme on the meeting, most of the themes were not selected, finally in our in-depth understanding of various topics, we decided to take 'local specialty' as the theme this year. Because according to our here geographical environment, we were only familiar with the persimmon. Then the students began to collect and integrate persimmon data.
