Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Our hometown is located in the southeastern part of the Guanzhong Basin in Shaanxi Province, where is next to the famous Luo Fu River, known as Luo Fu river, it was named Fushui in the ancient time, and famous because out of Qinling Mountains Da Fu Yu. It has a long history with many types of Arts and culture. MIhu and laoqiang has been widely popular in Huayin city. There are a total of 44 families and 66 genera, 18 orders, 29 families, 54 kinds of animals.

2. Summary of Our Project

In this activity, our school took 'West Side Story' as a comprehensive practice activity class, and there was a class every week. In the current new curriculum reform, in addition to the normal class, we were also advocated to improve the study and social practice, the purpose to participate in this activity is to give us a good chance to practice. We think it not only ensured our normal learning, but also broaden our horizons, and pay attention to the environment around in the spare time to collect, visit and take pictures.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

1.Time tight,Make good use of two-days weekends.We planed everything carefully, although got busy, but had greatly benefitted us 2.Slow network,Searching information on line after class,So long as we use our loaf of bread, method always compares difficulty much. 3.Unskilled hands,tongue in head, we learned as we went,We learned to operate computers as project finished.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

In Webpage production process, we have laughter, there are difficulties, harvest, there are a lot of feelings. Special will our entire creative process and experience feelings together to share to everyone.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

There is only one earth, the earth's ecological environment is the basic condition for human survival, protection of ecological environment is the basic guarantee of the sustainable development of human society, protect the earth's biological, especially the green plants, protecting life on earth, protecting earth is the most sacred mission of the people. Please protect our green home.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Through the theory and practice of accumulation, we gained a lot, and the impact is also very big. We had gotten support and encouragement, through the theme class meeting, the students had a deep impression on the environment, the students expressed wish to aid a helping hand, at the same time, the plan 'protect the green home' which was mentioned in the vacation also influenced and changed the environmental protection ideas of surrounding people, enhanced people's environmental awareness, changed the bad habits to throw away rubbish.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

The project got the support of the local government, and relevant department staff actively accepted our interview, they told us the form of human environment and the seriousness of environmental problems, and they in detail introduced us the knowledge about environmental protection and related laws and regulations, our activities were warmly welcomed by the local residents. They take the initiative to accept the interview, investigation, some residents also boldly put forward to us the reasonable suggestions and many environmental protection ideas.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

In the social practice activities, we get the exercise, and it is also a challenge to our ability. Through this activity, we learned to think independently, cultivate our observation, analysis, practical and social ability. We constantly improve ourselves, our comprehensive quality had improved significantly, at the same time, the student awareness of environmental protection and social responsibility is also greatly enhanced.
