4. Problems We Had To Overcome

The network in school is slow:We searched information and data by making full of time after class. So long as you use your loaf of bread, things will work out eventually. Webpage-making techniques:Went and for advice from our teachers,We learned how to use Photoshop by study. No more leisure time:Making full use of two-day weekends and the time after school,Arranging activity plan carefully.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Even though it is not as beautiful as Qingcheng and Emei, its unique charm attracts many tourists to come here for sightseeing. This is the pride of Yin people. Through visiting Dayuandong in Yin town, we have a more profound understanding of the culture in our hometown. Although our strength is very weak, the level is not high, but we have delivered the culture in Yin town to the friends from all over the world. We worked together for a common goal in these forty days, even though it is very hard, we got more joy! We believe that through our efforts, we will have a deeper understanding of our hometown.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

In order to let more people know about my hometown, understand Dayuandong, our team made a bold decision: to share we saw and heard with the entire school students, we separately go to each class to propaganda the beauty of Dayuandong in all forms, especially the funny things of Dayuandong. Through this activity, it not only cultivates the communication skills of the students, but also shares our achievements with the whole school students. Through the efforts of nearly more than 30 days, four students of our team finally completed the task. School principals and teachers gave high evaluation to our action. The most students learn more about Dayuandong through our efforts in this week, although we all feel very tired this week, all of us feel very satisfied with a strong sense of achievement, and feel like that we have done a big thing for our hometown.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

Hardware: computer, camera, DV, scanner Software: Photoshop7.0,Microsoft Word

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

In the course of our research, we visited the people near Damu Mountain, social people who love the culture of Dayuandong and part of the township cadres. We also shared with all the students. Most importantly, we hoped people knowYin history and culture of Dayuandong, and inspire the enthusiasm of loving home.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Our classmates including a lot of people in our hometown would know nothing at all about Dayuandong and the history in our hometown if there was no our study. Through my research, we shared our research results with the students and the people in hometown, let them understand the Tourism resources in hometown, understanding the significance about book stone of Dayuandong deeply, and at the same time, they get more understanding charm of their hometown.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Our material is gotten mainly through visits and interviews. The old Yuan Jiaxiang in Civil Affairs Department offered us a lot of information, especially the picture of book stone of Dayuandong, and at the same time, he also told us a lot of red army stories which happened in Yin town while accepting our interview. Some of the old soldiers in red army also participated in our interview, and school students cooperated with us to exchange Red army histories in Yin town. And of course the teacher gave us a lot of guidance.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

In the course of the study, we found that it is really not easy to research a project thoroughly. We have been growing in the Yin town, and it is less than ten meters from Dayuandong, we just heard about Dayuandong before, and to go to Dayuandong to burn incense and worship the gods occasionally, but all of us didn’t ask the stories of Dayuandong. Not mention its true meaning. I also found a lot of knowledge which we didn’t know previously through profound study, such as each book stone has a moving story, each cave is hidden a unknown history. Through the visit, we also see that now there are a lot of people who have been rich have not forgot en the hometown, a lot of people paid little attention to the culture in our hometown, some of them would know nothing at all, and understand few about Dayuandong, we hope that more people can understand and pay attention to Dayuandong through this project, let more people love his own country, and do our best for the development of our own home!
