1. Description of Our Community
Our project is devoted to the change of local communities. We are going to explore the way exchange students can became local leaders in Russia and other countries. Our examples are mostly going to based in Krasnoyarsk krai, Russia, whose area occupies 2,339,700 square kilometers (903,400 sq mi). But we are also going to explore some other example from different places, trying to define the way exchange students become local leaders and influence local communities.
2. Summary of Our Project
Our project is devoted to local leadership. Every local community is currently experiencing the influence of globalizing world. Nowadays to be a successful local leader a young person needs to see a bigger picture, to be able to deal with people of different backgrounds within his/her local community. In our opinion one of the greatest ways to develop leadership skills is to participate in student exchange program. This project is exploring how student exchange participation helps to develop leadership skills to benefit local communities.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome
To complete the project we needed to find the leaders who influence local communities after they participate in student exchange programs. We had to define their leadership skills that we developed by thier participation in those programs.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Who is a local leader nowadays? He/she is a person who sees global picture and acts locally to make a positive change. Participating in international is a great way to develop leadership skills necessary to be successful on a local scale.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
Though the project topic is not directly related to public school curriculum, we learned some very useful skills that can be used for school and other projects later on. We got some skills on web design, learned how to interview people in English and do the recording of the interview, how to work with Youtube and other Internet services. We also improves our skills of communication with people of different background and learn a lot of interesting things on leadership.
