1. Description of Our Community
Chahan River scenic area is 82 km away from Xining and 45 km from the Datong County, it is located in Baoku forest area which is in north-west of Datong. Ning Zhang Highway (from Xining to Zhangye Gansu province) goes through the gate of scenic area. The sea level is about 2868 to 4235 meters, North is high and South is low, it is valley geomorphology which is long and narrow. Area is 3114 hectares, closely connected with Heiquan reservoir which is the large water conservancy project of the province, the stone forest, waterfalls, cuckoo, Park in scenic area constitute natural landscape and forest landscape, which are known as the 'four wonders of Cha Han river'. The whole scenic area contains a combination of landscapes, mountains, sea of clouds, and it not only has beautiful scenery of Jiangnan but also has magnificent spots of Qinghai-Tibet plateau.
2. Summary of Our Project
Our topics are Chahan River Forest Park, we mainly take pictures, have interviews, collect and make up information for scenic spot, the environment, development, construction and protection and other aspects of Chahan River Forest Park, which we got the support of town and talent company, local community figures and unit, and so we got a lot of materials. We can not only feel that the nature has given us such a beautiful world but also saw the protection of the ecological environment of Chahan river with the increasing human activities. Through special events, we call on people to protect the beauty around us, and recommended that the relevant units can develop Cha Han River Scenic area scientifically and rationally!

There is only a computer room in our school, equipments are old, and many of them have not been used. The whole school internet accesses 4M, and it is very slow to download information and material. There is no computer in the home of students, not to mention surfing online,a lot of materials and references have to be downloaded at noon and after school, and then edited in computer room offline.
4. Problems We Had To Overcome
We also encountered many difficulties in the process of thematic activities. First, the campus network is not instable, the internet speed is very slow, and we have to wait a long time. We are short of time, and a lot of works are finished at noon, after school and the weekend. Secondly, in the process of making site, we also met many problems, such as a lot of software does not use, English translation problems. Fortunately, the instructor and the staff of the town and talent company help us to solve the problems. In order to collect first hand authentic materials, we interviewed management personnel of Chahan River scenic area, the weather is cold, the road is far, and the school leaders sent a car to take us to go, thank them for helping and caring us!
5. Our Project Sound Bite
This activity has obtained the support of school leaders, teachers and the staff in scenic area. We've experienced too much sour, sweet, bitter, hot in the activity, of course, the most important thing is that we also have many benefits, not only broaden our horizons but also improve our ability of social practice. More people know Chahan River Forest Park and see the natural beauty of the original ecology through activities.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
This special activity is mainly to introduce Cha Han River National Forest Park scenic area, to show the home environment and beautiful scenery. This project and the new curriculum reform are supplementary to each other. In activities, students show great enthusiasm with active participation, active exploration and trying, had experienced learning experience. Personally into the community, into the nature, to take part in the comprehensive practical activities, combine the book knowledge and practice. In the process of production, we encouraged each other, and to communicate with each other, not only enhance the friendship between us but also to learn team spirit. Activities get a lot of support and help, Thanks the people who have helped us!
