Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Tumen Gate is in Huangzhong county, Xining city,Hai province, from the Qinghai provincial capital Xining 26 km.Tumen Gate is the location of Tumen Gate Township in Huangzhong county, from county 15 kilometers, formed 15 villages.Here is located in the brain area, mainly dependent on the nature, there is no irrigated land. Main crops are soybean, wheat, oilseed rape as well as potato. People's main economic sources here rely on planting crops, besides going out to work. In the year of 2004, Min Huang road construction greatly broadens people's horizons, accelerates the transformation of people’s concept, it also usheres in a wide range of business opportunities. Adjustment of industrial structure in a timely manner, succeed in planting delicate vegetables in mountains, bean sprouts, baby cabbage, cabbage flowers, thus increasing the farmers' income. In addition, villeage farmers regard labor export as an important channel.The people are nice and kind here, scene is beautiful in summer, which is a good place for summer vacation.

2. Summary of Our Project

Through the practical investigation, exploringation and thinking to innovate theme, encourage students to reflect their real objective thought, pay attention to participating level and its process, take exercise in social practice, especially attention to the cultivation of the students' social practice, comprehensive practical activities are regarded as the curriculum whose core elements are research study and practice course.Through the students' self-control and hands-on process, we integrate use of existing knowledge and experience in problem solving, learning, developing the humanistic spirit and scientific qualities. During the hands-on process, students have increased knowledge and access to certain basic information technology skills, riching Web content as possible as we could.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Although having participated in the competition, the students were no longer participated because of studies, new students are also unskilled in the operation, requiring patient guidance.Participating students and novices, using computer skill in different levels, students have fewer communication in learning computer skills. hrough the network to communicate with Li Zhihua and Lv Qing teacher in Qianxiangwancai, which makes students aware of competition-related information.Detailed explanations, hands-on guide.1, Inter-Netcom Lv Qing teacher help guide passionately. 2, Tutor takes use of spare time to instruct to learn computer knowledge.In particular, Webpage producing technology. 3, Students use their spare time to help each other learn to use computers.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

At this time of our research on this topic, we are mainly for practical activity, we usually related some learned knowledge in the school to practice, through the comprehensive practice of the extracurricular activities, we got informative, more detailed understanding of our hometown little attention historical monuments, calling for protection of this precious historical and cultural heritage. This both master computer knowledge and exercises our practical ability. Although we faced some difficulties, we have learned previously unknown knowledge, through researches, interviews and access to network resources, we strengthen our awareness of the historical and cultural heritage and call on the people to protect them, don't let them die slowly in silent. Above all, research study activities make us have a deep understanding of the historic site in our side, which more than what we 've heard about, they are obtained through our efforts, it is really benefited a lot.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Call on people to save historical and cultural heritage of the home! Through our efforts, we call for attention to him and protect him, don't let the historical monuments disappear in our era.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We want our efforts to make our hometown these casual attention monuments to resend, and also allow this historic to get full protection, no longer being destroyed.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

For this event, we have not only received strong support from the school, but also received support from the Tumen Gate primary school which has provided the best photo sites, we would also like to thank the children's grandparents with a lot of information on the history and legends. Through this activity, we find that the most valuable tool is camera, computer and networks, because they help us record a lot of information on the activities and uploaded them to the Internet in a timely manner.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

In the course of this topic scheduled to be completed, we not only learn some computer skills, but also know photos dealing, learn some simple photo techniques, understanding that unity is strength. What’s more, we also feel the major role of the network is to let the world know that inconspicuous brick openings in my hometown which has a long history, we know more detailed history from the network.
