Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Tianmu is one of the most prosperous areas in Taipei. There are some foreign schools and embassies in Tianmu. That makes here more international. The prosperity of Tianmu Shopping Circle is for all to see. Tianmu Marketplace Development Association holds the creative market at the Tianmu Square weekly, which helps some creators to find the way to share their ideas and to increase their social life.

2. Summary of Our Project

Zhong-Cheng Rd. is one of the most important streets in Tianmu, Taipei. Lots of Koelreuteria are planted along the way. Because of that, Zhong-Cheng Rd. was called ?Koelreuteria Boulevard? as a nickname. In 1996, the Eslite (Tianmu branch) started to hold a event called ?Tianmu Koelreuteria Festival?, it helps the Koelreuterias on Zhong-Cheng Rd. be more famous. Our project is going to discover the life of the Koelreuterias and the interaction of the residents and the trees.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:more than 50%

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:more than 6

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:dedicated connection

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:more than 6

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Because Tianmu Flamegold Festival had already ended for many years, we lost some of valuable data. It is uneasy to contact each other and make discussion during the winter vacation, so we use Facebook and Dropbox to make it easier.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We’ve all seen prosper and depression of Tianmu. We believe that if everyone could give hands to Tianmu, it will be better again someday!

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We looked for the interaction between the Flamegold and the residents. To do this project, we had a huge improve on website designing.
