4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Lack of experience, the cognitions of CyberFair was little. By communicating with staffs working in Town & Talent Company, students learned more about CyberFair. No good PC skill, did not know how to process image and webpage making with computer. Teacher instructed student in computer after school. The task was hard and we were pressed for time. No more time to have any extracurricular activities. We asked classroom teachers not assign too much homework in this time and be able to give students some coaching to help them keep up with the class. We made an appointment by phone so that we could have a good visit.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We got supported by the school authorities and teachers. By visiting the Shiyanghe River environment, we widened our view and our capability for society practice. The turnout of participating CyberFair was great, which has enlightened us as to no matter what we do, no matter what difficulties may come our way, we will certainly succeed with one heard and one mind.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Through consultation with the school authorities, the CyberFair project was put into the general education courses. In class, advocacy for protecting the natural environment raised the environmental awareness of the whole school.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

We told people that the pollution and the degeneration of ecological environment in Shiyanghe River are serious. By visiting and publicity we want to remind people to protect river and environments that mankind depends on for existence. We also promoted students to go into action to publicize the importance of environment protection for their family.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We awakened people around Shiyanghe River to the need to protect our environment. Only after our propaganda do they raise the ecological awareness. For preserving the ecological environment of Shiyanghe River, many people were going to action to participate in the treatment of Shiyanghe River and make their positive contribution.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

People around here showed us over the Shiyanghe River and told us much basic information about the development of Shiyanghe River, moreover, they offered a few ideas to bring the Shiyanghe River under control.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

After practice and research, the existing knowledge has synthetically been used to solve the problems, learn to study, cultivate humanistic spirit and scientific spirit. Engaged with hands-on activities will help to increase the basic knowledge and basic skill of the subject.
