1. Description of Our Community
Shangyi county is located on the north of Hebei province, on the southern tip of Mongolia plateau. There is vast land and rich resources. The county's total land area is 3.9487 million acres, of which 1.1622 million acres of cultivated land area. The soil type is abundant and suitable for agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry various types of production, higher potential fertility. Located in arid, semi-arid, grassland biological zone, organic matter accumulation process is clear, especially the dark chestnut soil organic matter is most abundant, the highest content is 7.8%. For crop planting,, it is a strong competitive development value. There are huge potential and unique climate. Shangyi is in the East Asian continental monsoon climate zone, four seasons, adequate sunlight, large temperature difference, with hot rainy season. The annual average rainfall is 350-420 mm, multi-centred in June, July and August. Frost-free period is for 100-120 days.
2. Summary of Our Project
Shangyi county is unique climate, and cool in summer and autumn, sunny, sunlight enough, fresh air, hot rainy season, large temperature difference between day and night. The special climate environment and specific geographical location provide favorable conditions for non-polluted vegetable production. On the construction of vegetable industry, we followed the idea of facing to market, optimizing the structure, improving quality, various wares and innocuous production. Through the development of nearly ten years, they formed a integration pattern of leading enterprise to drive base and the base connecting with farmers 'production and marketing. At the Da Qinggou town of concentrated producing area of vegetable has formed a storage capacity of more than 20,000 tonnes of constant-temperature reservoir group and strictly according to the standardized production operation procedures to industrialization seedling production base and has built three vegetable market in Da Qinggou, Da Suji and Yingpan, daily trading volume of tens thousand tons.

There are 3 servers, 70 the client computers, connecting the ADSL broadband, the network speed 10M, Windows system. The school inserted Internet by means of dialing way, after development of several years, there are now three classrooms connected to the Internet. The network speeds upgraded from 1M to 10M now, participating children who love writing and computer skills are chose from our school students. They use information technology knowledge to complete this activity under the guidance of the teachers.
4. Problems We Had To Overcome
1. This is our first competition. At the begining I felt a lack of sense of direction and did not know how to start to organize the research projects. 2. It is too hard to become the small reporter. We've never interviewed before, so we were very tight in the interview. 3?Factory manager is too busy to interview. 4?Our courses learned how to use the network but did not learn making web pages, we are sort of a guilty conscience and afraid of doing badly. 5?Our activity holds 1 times every week, due to lack of experience and reasonable plan , as the event unfolded, we felt more and more nervous. And there was some conflict with study time during the interview.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Under the recommendations and encouragement of school teachers, we were the first time to participate in Cyberfair. At the beginning we were lack of confidence, only hold a try attitude. But later we discovered that we liked it and learn knowledge that were not in the book, and exercised our will in the front of difficulties. Under our group members' collaboration, we will be able to design a web page and show it to you. This is our biggest wish.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
Primary school curriculum of the moral society permeated education of humanity, geography, environmental protection and so on everywhere. Our theme also discusses dehydrated vegetables available value from resource-saving, environmental protection aspect. Reflect the healthy growth of the students. Local businesses, especially the boom of dairy cattle breeding is people's livelihood events. We make dairy cattle breeding project as the breakthrough point, and definitely describe its historical changes of prosperity, glorious, decay, and then venture. Initiate deep thought and educate students to take care of life. Start from me, concern about the development of the dairy industry, it is concerned about our own health.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.
Representing Da Qinggou primary schools in Shangyi county to participate in this inquiry activity, we feel very honored to publicize the home enterprises, introduce the hometown's environment and humanity. It is our mission. We should issue propose of loving energy, protecting the environment, reduce unnecessary waste to people all over the world, which is our responsibility. Take a reasonable approach to make them be utilized, which is the obligation of our person. This thematic research, three students as the hometown enterprise publicity ambassador, according with interview investigation for main way, used after-school time to carry forward the spirit of the group unity and cooperation in order to interview related enterprise, character and places. And then we collected the material of interview and explained interview experience between student and new awareness of protection environment. Let the idea of 'love hometown, protection environment, reduced waste' run through the heart of every student, advertise our research plans to society and get more people involved in activities.
3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?
Trough shows and publicity for our hometown business, not only let people know the importance of treasuring resources, more importantly, to remind us how to take means to reduce waste. Reducing wastage is saving resources. Secondly, let more people understand our dehydrated vegetable plant and understand the value of dehydrated vegetables. Shangyi unseasonal vegetables in the vegetable industry have a certain impact, vegetable varieties and planting scale formed climate. But it has still great potential to be tapped and is worth of thinking of entrepreneurs and farmers.
4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?
First of all, school leaders took part in our this research project, at the same time, gave us a great convenience and specifically provided us with a wide variety of hardware devices, such as digital cameras, multimedia rooms and so on. Secondly, after we made new type of dehydrated vegetable industry as a research topic, we also got teachers and students' a lot of help. They spontaneously did publicity for us, made us very touched and increased our confidence on this research project. Once again, we got the selfless help of dehydrated vegetable plant manager, and employees, they provided us with a variety of convenience.
5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)
The development speed of Shangyi vegetable industry is so at an astonishing, dehydrated vegetable plant are far few. We understand that there are only two in the whole county. Although every factory has four or five hundred people, but it still does not meet current market demand, plenty of vegetables is wasted which is difficultly to match the vegetable volume of production. It will be not rich product types and advanced production technology. There is a distance gaps compared with the international advanced level, which is far from earning foreign exchange through export. Vegetable farmers growing vegetables blindly led to a lot of unsalable vegetables, even discarded. It made waste and environmental pollution and increased their burden. This should make us ponder.
