Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

The county we visited this time is place which has blocking traffic, plenty of water, and the economy there is not very bad (all text names are not real names and places, following is the same). The village is nearly about one square kilometers; there are 397 village households, 1451 people. The per capita annual income is 4000-6000 Yuan. A nursing home was built in 1998, , Now There are five old people there.

2. Summary of Our Project

Since the reform and opening up, the income gap between urban and rural residents is growing. Farmers’ income from their land for the original can not to catch up with the level of economic development, more and more farmers work into the city. But, a lot of young rural migrant workers, children, old man will stay at home, this should get their children later in life to enjoy their life regurgitation feeding the rural elderly, became 'left-behind gens'. For several years now, the attention of society to 'left-behind children' is growing leads to pay more and more attention to'left-behind children'. However, 'left-behind old man' did not cause the attention of the society. These 'left-behind old man' should not only engaged in heavy farm work, still have to care 'left-behind' grandson. Due to the rural elderly cultural degree is generally low, together with relatives, the hard physical labor away from the education of their children, and helpless, let them feel more difficult. The old man for staying family has made a great contribution, they should to do the task to have enjoy family happiness in the family, to take care of children. Youth work out to 'left-behind old man' will have greater influence which is spiritual planes, old people more or less was in poor health, children and not at nearby, they're easy to produce feelings of loneliness, especially the childless old. These make them late years alone. But the old life in the old age of happiness or to a certain extent in relation to their children can rest assured in outside part-time job. This needs us to also can look stay in these 'left-behind old man', in this context, we put forward the attention to the rural 'left-behind' old man, this project is to focus on rural 'left-behind old man' for the purpose, calling on the whole society to care for this group, with the practical action to enrich their life in his later years, sings to warm them with love lonely heart.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

One is the equipment are scarce, we try to using borrowed, there is no way to rent. 2 it is low of equipment configuration, we try to make do with use. 3 it is the network environment is bad, I often miss the school office peak time for work. 4class time is tight, we make full use of holiday or double cease day for our project activities. 5 is funding tight, in this activity we as far as possible saving every penny. Group in the months of activity ever buy a bottle of mineral water.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

For months, although we are very hard, we have more rejoice! One is the cleansing of the heart, find out a lot of the real story, those stories or passionate, or thought-provoking, or cuirenleixia. We gave them a fortune through joy, for their family misfortune and grief. Two is that it is learned a lot in the course made not only learn knowledge. Such as interview skills, photography, web pages, etc.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Our actions, not the benchmarking, not oriented. But we visiting survey, we send warm to offer the compassion, let more people see more clearly the rural rear old people's physical conditions, feel their life situation, touch their heart space; Make the old man in his later years of life in a spirit comfort. We also hope to have social this big collective to join, as long as everyone give a little love, 'left-behind old man' never be left. The sunset is more red. Our activity get social widespread praise, from education's point of view, can let young friends feel these people deep pure, goodness, thrift, character.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

1 township and village level for two leading comrades in our a social practice, social survey activities support and help. 2 my youth corps committee to this school for a social practice, social survey activities of the organization. 3 thanks to accept our project team’s interview. Here we once again I wish you good health and a happy life, the days better than a day.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

Our victory finished our project task, investigation process we met a lot of difficulties, also collected the real material, we give full play to a team work, a concerted effort, made our project work. Activity we use the way we can help each of those who need help, we use the filled with look forward to more attention to focus on the community of the countryside, we tried to understand the right social groups and their problems, we try to use the way we contribute the society, we gained a lot, although we do very enough.
