4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We have the greatest difficulty is data collection. In the post-disaster reconstruction, condition is quite difficult so that everyone had to overcome many difficulties to survive, pays little attention to other events. Now tourism development has built many new attractions again, and that time, the Sword Gate scenic area was closed for construction. When the new Sword Gate demonstrated in front of people, workers, however, have been already away from the beautiful scenery. And the past information best reflecting the history was farther away from us. Furthermore this let us have a sense of urgency and we must collect more primitive, not man-made artificial history information. In order to solve these problems, we went to the new Sword Gate to feel its changes, record its new style, at the same time, through newspapers, television, news finding out information in the construction process. We interviewed people involved in the construction as well.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

In 5.12 earthquake reconstruction, there are many moving stories. New enormous changes in the Sword Gate include advance view of government as well as workers' payout. Sword Gate area has undergone great changes, and changes also have taken place in people's lives in the disaster areas. In the face of disaster, people in the drought-stricken areas have not been overwhelming, with the help of the whole nation, post-disaster reconstruction was a success. Thank the motherland, thank the people thoughtout the country.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

Our above science and technology tool, played a huge role in our data collection and homepage manufacture. Computers, digital cameras, CISS establishment of systems, cross-network support from Qianxiangwancai, others are provided by schools, teachers and parents who try their best to help, so that we could successfully complete a thematic research programme.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Through this page, we introduce to audiences all over the world the tourism resources and historical culture in our hometown. We will also do the role of ambassador responded by email, mail and other means to communicate with people(groups) all over the world and show more beautiful side of hometown to the outside world.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

The students in our school become more interested in the history of the Three Kingdoms. Originally, the students like to watch the comic books of the Three Kingdoms, but not pay much attention to the sites seriously. They were all very surprised that we gathered massive information on the side of it, in their eyes, Sword Gate, Cuiyun Corridor, Zhao Hua are no longer just tourist attractions, but a rich historical and encyclopedic book. The library 'the Romance of the Three Kingdoms' and the related books are all borrowed out, everybody like to read this series greatly. Student previously visited to the Sword Gate who thought would never go back was returning to Sword Gate again with a kind of new vision. He said he would go once again, because it is impossible to see Sword Gate scenery of merely one visit. Impact on local residents. Local inhabitants, in the past just like ordinary villager, except the story told at ordinary times was different from people in the other places, other like was sunrise work, sunset rest. Green stone streets of the Three Kingdoms, just let their feet a little less muddy than other parts of the people. Their desire is to build their own houses. When at the end of rebuilding by side, they found that changes not only in their homes, but also have taken place throughout the disaster area, the environment around us are better, so the people confident enough, energy is greater. Now tourism development makes they increasing their income, they also know that it is right to put some money in post-disaster reconstruction in order to develop economic in the post-disaster. Our interviews to them, communicated with them, let them tell us what we don't know and tell them what they don't know. Give people confidence in life, what’s more, the post-disaster reconstruction cannot be separated from the assistance of the whole nation, thanks to the great motherland.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Sword Gate area management committee give us a lot of help.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

We are very pleased to participate in this webpage making activity, first of all is to learn a lot of knowledge and train my practice exploring ability. The most important thing is, in the course of our interviews, we got many people’s support and assistance, they were very enthusiastic. I had known, a person's success in addition to his own efforts, cannot be separated from social and collective support, we would like to have a thankful heart. Why a person's teamwork ability, communication skills important is this truth.
