Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Lanzhou city is located in the center of Gansu province, the eastern extension of Qilian Mountains and the northwest of Loess Plateau in Longxi, and it is the political, economic, and cultural centers of Gansu. Yuzhong,Yongdeng, Gaolan three counties and Chengguan District, Qilihe aera, Western Zhou District, Anning District and five areas of Honggu are within the jurisdiction of Lanzhou city. Lanzhou city regional structure has had a long evolution, on the narrow basin of Yellow River, the politics, business, science and technology as the leading function in ChengGuanOu has been formed gradually; light industry, machinery, railway transport hub are primary in Qilihe area; petroleum, chemical are primary as comprehensive industrial area in west area; electronic instrument, higher education are primary in Anning area. Research regional structure of Lanzhou city is meaningful to promote steady development of Urban economic.

2. Summary of Our Project

Our topic of subject research is Lanzhou memories, CangXi history and local characteristics have been found and interviewed, plenty of firsthand materials have been gotten, we have learnt a lot of knowledge we don’t know before, and had more deeply understanding to the development of Lanzhou, we are trying to reflect our customs in hometown lanzhou with own website, it expresses that the people in hometown have determination to build a beautiful home, meanwhile, the friendly spirit of mutual cooperation also can be cultivated. We will always persist the theme spirit of “ cooperation, pragmaticism ”, we finally hope that we can share historical development of local-style dwelling houses in Cangxi and new changes in hometown with the friends from all over the world in this match.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

The ADSL is used in our school and family, there is only one guide teacher in the four players can surf online, net in computer room of student is unstable, only the net in guide teacher’s home is comparative smoothly, so most of contents in website are finished on computer of guide teacher.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We will always persist the theme spirit of “ cooperation, pragmaticism ”, we finally hope that we can share historical development of local-style dwelling houses in Cangxi and new changes in hometown with the friends from all over the world in this match.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

The students get a practical opportunity and use of knowledge opportunity through this subject research, and it makes students learn knowledge and experience that they can’t learn on books. This activity is the best practice lesson for the students in our school, this kind of internship approach has never been experienced. Both social communication ability and mastery of knowledge for students have greatly improved through this activity experience and exercise. They are satisfied with participating in social activities than looking outside, the achievements of the campaign is no longer limited in the written material, and let them pay more attention to social influence.

We know clearly in this activity that it is not finished by a subject or a single person, and we know that we are not only an inalienable part of team, but also a part of community, so we spend a lot of time in the usual study life. Every member in practice will obey organization, division of labor, team management, etc. Players are doing their best in their corresponding postion.
