Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Vice secretary of provincial party committee WangFuYu said that we should spend great effort on Bijie after Guizhou tourism. We think that Bijie city should be concerned after Bijie tourism which was still uncultivated in ten culture brand. Zhijin cave and thyme cuckoo, nine cave, caohai international cooperation are cared in Bijie aera nearly 10 years and many cultural resources are ignored. In 2008, the top ten ecological tourism destination titles were won by Qiandongnan prefecture. They awarded 'China best cultural ecological tourism destination' half a year. It is renew ideas and progress from 'ecological' to 'cultural ecology'.

2. Summary of Our Project

There were three participants in this match. Because there was a few computer room at school, so most of students finished work in their spare time or at home. One Zhangdan was responsible for the photo collection and sorting, Zhangxing and Wenting were responsible for web material compilation, teachers instructed students to finish web design and programming. Even though contents scattered and scenic construction in local had brought inconvenience to us for collecting data, students had higher passion. Although there were many disappointments contest in this match, but it was made by us and everyone was enjoying themselves.

There are five computer rooms in our school, but they were used with high frequency. So many of us can’t use them, meanwhile, there is a poor network at school. Most of students have no computer at home and have a little communication online, so the students often overtime to finish in spare time

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

First, communication is difficult. The network is unstable at school, we can’t search information normally. Teachers organized and told the students about the content and requirements they did. Secondly, interview difficulties. On one hand having a little time, we only have time to have an interview on double cease day; on the other hand having long interview way and bad traffic, we spend much money and part of photos are collected not too full.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We know more about ourselves through this activity and find shortage, meanwhile, exercising our practical ability and the team cooperation ability. Although we have bitterness and joy, but we are enjoy ourselves from the harvest.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

There is information collection and processing, the writing of activity experience and web content arrangement, interview questions of design and practical interviews in the study. These improve the ability of students on listening, speaking, reading and writing. With the research, we make full use of students’ potential and combine with courses the school opened “web design”, “image processing”, improve the student's practical ability continuously.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

From our understanding of cultural and tourism resources in Bijie city, we research the near tourist attractions inquiry respectively according to collect and sort the relevant material. Let the outside world know situation of tourism resources in Bijie city, then they will care and know Bijie.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

There are more people know Bijie, care Bijie, especially the construction area in Bjie through entering tourism campaign of Bijie cultural resources. We realized that more people need to care and do their best for it.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

We visited tourist attractions and local residents enthusiastically introduced various folk legends. With their help, we got the precious raw material. Leadership also attached great importance to our activity programs at the same time.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

In this research project, we found that there is a few tourism resources and development in Bijie city and people rarely focus their eyes on tourism resources and development. Unfortunately, Bijie city is better than many historical and cultural cities in province; It is to go even farther in some aspects. Although we were familiar with monument for having heard it many times before, but we didn’t sum up and sublimate work, from ordinary found in unusual.
