5. Our Project Sound Bite

Over the past few months, we participated in an online exhibition which made each of our team members very happy. During this time, we also designed many bike path plans. Although we ran into a lot of problems, every team member worked together and one by one we were able to resolve those problems. On January 1, we visited a carp pond on our bikes. This helped us to better understand Hualien and that it is a great place. When you have had enough of the big city life, you might as well come and take a self-help trip to Hualien's divine bike trails.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

This research project is to let others know about Hualien's Cycling lanes. We'll use an online exposition to let them knowof the beauty of these pathways.Every team member will be assigned to a group that will work togetherto complete their tasks, discuss the project, andcollect and organize information.By using this approach we will 'kill two birds with one stone' becausewe not only achieve our goal but each teammember has a chance to increase their own knowledge as well.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

Most of this research project is to learn how to make a plan and to discuss bike trails. For example, we will be gathering information and then organizing that information and discussing it. We'll also learn interviewing techniques, route planning, how to do research reports, and web page design.Through this process, everyone will learn many things and increase their abilities. As we make our visits and do our interviews, we'll get answers to our questions which will allow us to better understand the local bike trails

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

The purpose of this project is to let others see the beauty of Hualien's cycling lanes. Therefore, through Cyberfair, we let more people understand t. Each team member cooperated by sharing work load to accomplish every task. By dividing into groups, discussion, collecting, sorting materials and interviews, we utilized the knowledge we had gained into life. Life testifies our learning. On each interview and field trip, our attitudes have become more concentrated and our skills of asking questions have improved. Team members also encouraged each other to make things work more perfectly. More importantly, we now care about every detail, but we used to be careless. Our interviewees could feel that we worked diligently and sincerely.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Most of this research project is to learn how to make a plan and to discuss bike trails. For example, we will be gathering information and then organizing that information and discussing it. We'll also learn interviewing techniques, route planning, how to do research reports, and web page design.Through this process, everyone will learn many things and increase their abilities. As we make our visits and do our interviews, we'll get answers to our questions which will allow us to better understand the local bike trails

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

We want to thank our principle and all the teachers who have helped us in our schools. They spent lots of time to give us information and to help us to finish all the works we need to do. Teacher Yao, he teach us using the computer skillfully. We also want to thank all the people with whom we had the interviews. They are happy about that we work on the project related to local Attractions. They think we are doing an important thing. We are very grateful to some student parents who had been giving us a hand in helping us connect with people whom we want to visit and how to do a good interview. Thanks for the help of these people.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

On this bike trip, we discovered that when a person always walks along a road, they are unlikely to find anything surprising and when we go down a road that is unfamiliar to us, we are likely to get lost. But the cool thing is that by going down that road we discovered all sorts of plants and very beautiful scenery. This trip led to this thought: It would be really great if everyone in the world could see this beautiful scenery.
