1. Description of Our Community
Our school is located at the foot of the ri yue Mountain at the east of the Tibetan Pleteau and at the upper reach of huang shui river , between eastern agricultral region and western animal husbandry region , between the Huang tu Plateau and Tiberan Plateau , between the tibetan culture and han culture . As a gateway to Tand bo ancient course and to south silk road , it is an important access to western husbandry region in Qinghai province and Tibet with Qinghai Tibet railway , 109 national highway and Qingxin road constructing through it . The dan ge er ancient city in Huang yuan town in Qinghai province is crowned as Qinghai Tibet throad and Tea and Horse commercial city . Dan Gaer, the origin of the huang shui , is located to the north of the Yellow River , on the Xi sea , 40 miles from Xining . It tolerates many ethnics here and connects Huangtu Plateau with Tibetan Plateau , integrationg farming culture and priarie culture , with Tangbo ancient route and south silk road going through it . It is crowned as Qinghai Tibet throad and Tea and Horse commercial city as well as small peking. Dan Gaer ancient city is a cultural city with ethnics gathering here and their culture growing here , forming distinvtive regional culture . However ,with the development of times and transfer of the commercial center , Dan Gaer was plunged into depression . To establish distinctive urban scene , continue the cultural line of this ancient city and attract tourist investment , Huang shui Town developed a protective restoring work based on the principle of restoration to the same old past to buils it into an cultural ancient city and circling lake tourist destination combining popular culture , catering culture , commercial culture , military culture , religious culture and dixtinctive construction art .
2. Summary of Our Project
Dan Gaer ancient city is not only a bautiful tourist area but also a place intergrating tibet culture and han culture . Therefore , we should not only its entity but its culture , not only showing the world Dan Gaer ancient city culture , but excavating a deeper Dan Gaer culture to enrich our original culture.

Students almost had no access to network as serious unstable network connection of computers in our school . Thanks to the situation that teachers and students in this project had computers connected with internet at home and their some computer knowledge , relevant strong writting skills , we had a good foundation in designing the website .
4. Problems We Had To Overcome
As tight school schedule and some other reasons , it was not easy for us to conduct outdoor interviews . To take less time . we arranged to do our project at weekends and at short leisuring time . During the interview day , we had lots of harvests altuough we had a fatigue day after more than 30miles ride without much rest on the insecure roads . To better know the history of this ancient city and got first hand information , we interviewed some retired teachers and officials but we were caught into troubles as we had to made earlier appointments with them without long time disturbance as well . To shoot some historic pictures , we tried our best to find leaders in tourist administration and propagation bureau , finally ,we took pictures . As a consequence of tight school schedule and busy work of our teachers , we had to find more time in leisuring time to write enlightments and design webpage in school ,besides those time at nights . But we were full of confidence as encouragement from others came when we were in trouble despite of our limited time . More importantly ,we knew more about Dan Gaer ancient city and enabled more people to build the hometown sense .
5. Our Project Sound Bite
We had a substantial leap in computer skills through this project . More importantly , our five students not only knew the historical values and cultural significance of Huang yuan ancient city but made students around us feel the same way . We had a new understanding to our hometown as well after several visits to the local residents . More preciously , we learnt to communicate , cooperate and asked for help , built confidence and tenacity , overcame many weaknessed on us after experiencing many tests . These were out of our teachers' expectation . Seven teachers and students in this project experienced the lure to explore the historical myth , realized our burden to protect and promote historical relics . We hoped that this place could be more beautiful and more people would know Huang yuan ancient city .
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
We attached more importance to cultivate the independence and self-initiation and their ability to learn in practice in our teaching . This was much more important under the current practice situation , therefore ,we should enrich the social resources and natural resources for students , broaden the practicng matarials and visions as well as their knowledge taking advantages od local conditions and advantages . Under the background of comprehensive new course reforms , our project not only enriched students' knowledge and developped and cultivated ethnis culture . Everyone showed great enthusiasm during the project and combined school knowledge with their practices under the guidance of teachers , especially the information collection and classification ability during the interviews and design .
