Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Taipei Municipal Yongle Elementary School is located on the inside of Dadao-Cheng of Danshui front, is an elementary school of old community. Business was very booming here because the Dan-Shuei River facilitated transportation next to Dadao-Cheng in early days.

Therefore, Wangs’ Tea originated from Fujian Anxi to choose to open the first branch here in 1907.

With the evolution of the main means of transport, Dadao-Cheng is no longer a major economic center in Taipei. Coupled with the dispirited traditional tea market and gradually neglected tea art. Wangs’ Tea is facing operational difficulties.

Through the reservation, transmission and promotion of traditional tea culture, and innovative products and packaging, Wangs’ Tea is turning point of the crisis, the business is getting better. These innovative breakthrough ideas are worth our going deep into to investigate and popularize.

2. Summary of Our Project

Tea culture has been a part of Taiwanese culture.

However, the appearance of The hand operated tea drinks and bottled tea make traditional wholesale teahouses have faced a great deal of impact.

Through this website, hoping to further investigate and popularize the the century-old shop - Wangs’ Tea can still cause long-term operation under the dilemma.

?Our specific? 1?Professional Team We combine students, parents, Instruct teachers and school teachers, local communities and social education resources, and through interviews, DIY, a questionnaire survey to research the topic.

2?Gather resources widely We interview with boss of the Wangs’ Tea, and to visit through a questionnaire survey of parents, school teachers, and one to sixth grade children. In addition, we combine volunteer parents to teach students cook tea-flavored egg, tea jelly, and tea biscuit...etc.

3?Enterprise business model We go deep into to understand Wangs’ Tea development to innovate the process of management from the establishment and transformation, to how attract a young ethnicity.

4?Multiple Activities Our learning activities are divided into four major sections, including visits, investigations, DIY and web technology. 5?Program content Hopes by understanding the successful factor of The Wangs’ Tea to stir up the enterprise insist on keeping traditional culture and continuously innovating g.

6?Web results Hope to inform the spirit of insisting on keeping traditional culture and continuously innovating of The Wangs’ Tea to encourage more people to make great effort in persistence good culture through network.

School: There are 62 computers in 2 computer classrooms, 19 lendable notebook computers, are used to connect with Server Room by optical fiber.

Home: Using the ADSL for data query and file transfer, and apply a web page space at school as Supporting Website and Network Attached Storage.

Teachers & Students: Using the blog to communicate and discuss with classmates and teachers.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Firstly, Lack of prior knowledge: We have experience shortage to the knowledge of tea-leaf and the method for tea brewing, must continue to ask the boss to understand.

Secondly, Time of the questionnaire is limited: Because we can only do a questionnaire after school hours, the time is very urgent.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

In order to allow all our classmates to understand and learn the enterprise culture and spirit of Wangs’ Tea, we condensed the research results of “The Wangs' Tea” and the project webpage into a power point file and reported and promoted it to our students and teachers during lunch breaks.

Moreover,the following is the ways how we impact on local.

Firstly, make traditional culture and innovation clever thought able to continue to spread to accept through the student to the investigation in local old store.

Secondly, through the establishment web page, let everyone know the process of the innovation management with Wangs’ Tea, then close and reacquaint traditional tea culture.

Thirdly, through the analysis of crisis strategy, we are developing student’s courage to turn crisis into opportunities, and provides the related same information for industry of same dilemma.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

(Combined with General Guidelines of Grade 1-9 Curriculum of Elementary and Junior High School Education in our plan) With school-based curriculum 'Dadao-Chen' as the theme features in Taipei Municipal Yongle Elementary School, we expect to constitute small Dadao-Chen guiding and explaining volunteer worker's team in the future.

(The use of information technology in our plan) We use much information technology in different purposes. Using the telephone, fax and cell phone contact each other. Using personal computers and notebook computers surf the Internet to collect information. Using digital cameras and video recorders do a complete record. Using web page software manufactures web page.

(Way to play the Ambassador of Taiwan School Cyberfair) We share our website and report with our classmate, and expect to constitute small Dadao-Chen guiding and explaining volunteer worker's team in the future.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Firstly, thankful boss of the Wangs’ Tea, Wang Lian Yuan and Wang Duan Guo, accept our interviews and help us to takes image inside the store.

Secondly, thankful our volunteer parents teach us to cook tea-flavored egg, tea jelly, and tea biscuit...etc.

Thirdly, thankful all the teachers, parents and our upper and lower classmen accept our interview.
