Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Our school is located at the Songhua Community of Shouan County in the Pujiang Town of Chengdu in Sichuan Province , 5miles of the western Shouan entrance after 40 minutes bus ride on the Cheng ya highway started from the Xin nan gate Coach station in Chengdu. The specific location of our school is between big and small Wumian Mountain , adjecent to the Linxi River and 20miles from Pujiang Town . The half-bulit fast route from Chengdu to Pujiang which is 1 mile from our school will benefit our scholl more after finishing.

2. Summary of Our Project

We hoped that more people would know Pujiang kiwi through our webpage introduction , thus promoting the development of Pujiang kiwi industry.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:less than 20

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:2-3

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:dial-up modem

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:4-6

E. Additional comments concerning your computer and/or Internet access (Optional):

This year , our school used the private network of the Education Group which was in its initial stage , therefore , we did not have a complete facility, what’s more , we did not have enough access to these computes as abundant computer classes for all the classes .The design of our webpage and western stories were arranged in the administrating office which were equipped with three computers , however , we still had not enough access to these three as teachers also searched their information and printed materials here. As a result , sometimes we had to write elsewhere , including teachers’ offices and learders’ offices.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

1,limited time. AS the activity began much later than the past years and we had a tight schedule which require us to get up at 6.30 , had early stuy hall at 7a.m. and released our night study hall at 9 p.m. ,meanwhile , our headteacher Liu were busier with the administration work , therefore , students had to use the time on the PE classes , free time ,lunch and dinner time , even weekends ,to proceed the project gradually. 2, In ou town ,Fuxing village which is far from us boasts a reletively large scale in growing kiwi with some mature companies which have a strict administration and do not allow people to enter at will. At weekends , students had to finish their homework , do housework and field work sometimes , as a consequence , it was hard for us to arrange interviews. At last , we turned to our headmaster XU whose hometown was Fuxing to connect for us , and we finished our interview at the end of Ocotober. 3, Information collection . Our theme this yeas is around Pujiang kiwi which were fragamently planted by peasants in these two or three years mainly along the Linxihe Basin in Pujiang . Though this was a lange quantity but failed in scale without fruits yielding mostly , therefore , farmers could not provide us very useful information . Finally , we chose Fuxing Village which grew kiwi earlier as our visiting destination .

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Pujiang is actively support and develop kiwu leading enterprises and special farmer cooperating organization to form an industrial opreation model which combines special farmer cooperating organization with those leading enterprises and drive farmers with special farmer cooperating organization , thus formulating a benefit linking mechanism featuring possible quality tracing and guranteed farmer interests .
