Our project aims is to spread the words and reach all the peoples in the world to lend their heart and mind to gave these endangered primate a second chance in life. Our project will also acts as a important educational platform for getting people’s attention who may know nothing about the catastrophe the orang utans are facing and how close they are to becoming extinct. By gathering the latest and up to date information, we believe our focuses on teaching the people about the Orang Utans’ activities and life styles in the wild, such as foraging for food, nest building, tree climbing and socialising, in anticipation for their eventual release into their natural habitat will help their world and us be a better and safe place to stay.

2. Summary of Our Project

For the year 2011, we believe the theme for CyberFair 2011 is crystal clear where by 'Take Action and Unite!' slogan capture the objectives of our research on the Orang Utan, which is an endangered primate known to the whole wide world. One of our mains objectives are to learn more about the Orang Utan and spread the words across the globe to gain global attentions about these alarming situations. We are fortunate to have our own Orang Utan Island here in Malaysia which is located nearby in a 7,000 acre freshwater lakeside in Semanggol, Perak, Malaysia. The Orang Utan Island itself, which was formerly known as Pulau Panjang, comprises a vast 35 acre area, 5 acres of which has been set aside as a research centre for these endangered primates.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Based on our last year experience we believe that the levels of investment and subsidies for this new project can be overseen with our efforts and encouragement from our school principle. Hence upon our capacity of time and energy in gathering all the information and traveling to the location will be extremely exhausting and tiring. However, it is a physically and emotionally challenging to motivate us in completing the jobs that be handed to us as a school representatives to the project. The public, private and government sector market processes designed to attract investment into our activities may thus be attributable to information problems.

We start with the fundamental issue, by defining the inhabitants of the orang utan to be reviewed. We then turn to problems of sampling, response rates and bias. We use lessons learned from our classroom discussions effort to elaborate upon each issue. Second, we review the concerns we now are addressing in a further examination of developers and how our approach has evolved. This second section permits us to arrive, third, at some conclusions about the problems facing any parties attempting to draft any incentives to certain parties or individuals. Also, about the whole process of structuring the informing decisions that need to be made within short periods of time.

It is important therefore, that we not only execute the research but also address the main existing issues which could help other parties that in need to understand better the situation. To help us in this, we make sure to keep side by side with the organization to promote and educate the people all around the world the realm of the orang utan world nowadays. Therefore if there any possible project inputs which are relevant to our subjects such as Science and English then we definitely will make it as part of our school subjects’ project informally to adopt in the project. To stay focus in the subject, we also attend meetings and discussions and stay connected with relevant external organization to gather and compile all related information and issues that are critical and important.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

The tools that we had used for this project are books about orang utan and also websites that we believe is related to our title. Others tools such as laptops, computers, a printer, a scanner, two digital cameras and one video camera. In terms of software, we had used Internet Explorer, Macromedia product, Word, Windows Media Player and Real Player.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

All of us take part on the project. Some of us conduct the research on the trip to the research place meanwhile the others focus on building the websites. After that, we combined the findings and setting up the websites together. Not forgetting, our teachers and principal always guide and show us the correct ways to develop and organize our data and information.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

This project had shown us that there is a way for us to learn about environmental awareness and its impacts by modifying our own ways of learning and studying lifestyles. The people surrounding need to appreciate their thoughts and views on the impact of the environment by changing the way they act from their daily routine. They should explore more and get the facts right in believing the truth behind the words. The project findings have fairly shown and prove to us as students that in order to achieve a gradual but definitive change in the orang utan habitants, we need to take part to help and ensure the safety of the orang utan are secure and safe. We hope just how profoundly the project affects us and others who really concerns.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

For this project, we must salute and give a really big hug to this organization Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation which very helpful and kind to create such a wonderful place for the orang utan and others small animals to live in. Their efforts and kindness shown in this magnificent island of orang utan. Special thanks to each one of the staffs and volunteers who help and educate us about the important of preserving the wildlife animals such as orang utan who have the rights to live in this world with us. They had told us that some bad people like to take advantages from the orang utan body parts and not aware of the awful things that they are doing to the balance of the world environments. We are all really appreciated all their aid and direction. With all that we would like to say to them, thank you very much.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

The knowledge sharing that we found in this project is very basic fundamental for us to understand better about the world welfare. This project really opens our eyes to do it right in all of our doing. As for the community, we want them to connect their thoughts and efforts in making the world is a safer place for all living things. The outcome of this project really shown us that there are many wild life threaten animal out there need our love and cares. Well, just about anything can really cause our project to loss due to restraint by others element that can force us to break along the ways. Sometimes we lose track of time even worse that spending time on nothing. And we believe that this new project inputs are giving us a huge effect in our hearts and hopefully also to the people of the world in acknowledging the common understanding of wildlife.
