Under our country’s great blueprint of west development, we deeply felt our hometown’s great changes in our interview. People’s life is continually improving, economy quickly and vigorously developing. At the same time of obtaining the double harvest of material civilization and spiritual civilization, we also felt sad that our surrounding environment also destroyed by people. We firstly formed the team, then made the planning and time schedule, strictly developing works based on the plan.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:less than 20

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:2-3

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:dedicated connection

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:4-6

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We also encountered many difficulties in real works. For example, time confliction. In the daytime, we were intensive studying, and it was going to dark after school, which was bad in optical line, thus taking photos became a problem. When we were having classes, the interviewees were working. When after school, they had to go home after come off work and so on. In order to interview the interviewees and take good picuturs, we used our weekends to do it.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

After a month’s work, we had a deeper understanding about our hometown and felt that w should study hard to contribute to constructing our hometown and decorate our hometown more beautiful.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We paid much attention to this activity, we made scientific planning and time schedule at the beginning in order to achieve neglect of neither study nor interview and realize the win-win result. Through this practice, we not only improved our network skills, but also improved our collecting and processing information ability, these all can’t learn from books.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We contacted with the interviewee with telephone, searched for data, had investigation to residents around Xilai Town, exclusive interviewed all kinds of shop owners and so on to accomplish the first-hand data, used Photoshop to process pictures and finish the production under the teachers’ guidance.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

We are the ambassador of the ancient town’s environmental protection, in the process of interview activities, through our own activity to publicize the environment and service of the town; we got support and praise from local residents.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Through this activity, people all cleared about the improvement of life quality cannot separate with environment and the real meaning that our country promoted standardized agriculture manufacture. At the same time, we deeply felt that environment protection could not just stop on words but need everyone’s effort. In order to let our living nature and life quality coordinated develop, we should no longer be insensitive, we need to practice personally and publicizing practically.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Our works were bittersweet, but we felt sincerely happy from our heart. Many interesting things happened such as, when we taking photos about the standardized agriculture results in fruit garden, the owner Xu Tao regarded us as thief and not allowed us to the field. This was caused by not explaining our purpose before our coming. After understanding our real purpose, he was very happy to coordinate with our interview and wanted to send some eggplants and peppers in his garden to us. And for example that when we personally picking roadside litters, several children joined us voluntarily, we felt a great sense of achievement.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

We got a lesson from this activity: there should have planning and arrangements when doing things, only in this way can it be carried out in order, at the same time, not forget any little details. Be earnest and never impulsive when doing things, only if you follow the project will the task finish successfully.
