Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

The famous historic and cultural town Pingle is located in the southwest of Qionglai, Chengdu, Sichuan. It is the biggest town in Qionglai with the whole area of 700 thousand square kilometers. The history of it can be dated back to the ancient times and it is more than 200 years old.

2. Summary of Our Project

Through theory and practice, it is aimed at encouraging students to participate in more activities and improving their skills in all aspects.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Our topic is mainly the Mansion of Family Li, as well as its history and some interesting stories about it with the combination of several courses such as history, geography, humanities and computer. We aim to show the value of the ancient style architecture and its role in promoting the local economy. In the process of this activity, our team members encourage and communicate with each other, which not only enhances our relationships, but also strengthens the teamwork, and improves our abilities.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

We have an interview there and get something interesting about it as well as its important role in promoting the local tourism and local economy.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We know very little about computer before. Through the activity, we became more interested in it. With the help of ourselves and Zhang Yan, we have learned a lot about web design as well as the importance of cooperation. We used a lot of equipment for the first time such as cameras and scanners. Although it is the first time for us to take part in in this kind of activity, our ability to practice has been improved and we became more confident than before.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Mrs. Li ,Telling something about the Mansion of Family Li.
