Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Datong county is located at the northeastern Qinghai province in Qinghai province, belong to the xining, with the total square meters 3090, 22county, 6 town, 410000, per capita 129 / squra meters. The grass land has 2340000 mu, forest 100000 hectare, with the coverage of 26.4%, ranking the top in the province. there are many kinds of wild plant, for medicine 160. chishao, qingjiu ,yinchen, dahuang selling to Beijing and shanghai. There are 120000 mu for the forest, and baihua forest 60000mu, developed the products shaji oil, juice baihua juice enjoys high value. There are many kinds of special products, candou, juecai, live ox. The precious animal has white lip deer, she, bear, zi, sheli, lanmaji. The explored minerals are mineral, shiyingshi, baiyun stone, limestone, fangjie stone, long stone, gaoling soil, nian soil. It enjoys the rich huanghe river across the whole county. the longer river also has the baoku river, the ideal tour site. Datong belongs to highland temperature, with long time sunshine and rainfall 450mm—800mm, the average 4.7. summer cool and unique site. It has the good future of national color and local color.

2. Summary of Our Project

Duanwu, in our Qinghai province, dangwu, in our Qinghai province, duanwu has the same and different, in our Qinghai, we eat zongzi, and drink wine same as others, but insert the branches, eating cool noodles, characterized our Qinghai. Our research direction starts here, after discussion, we decide to start at the Qinghai duanwu habit and culture. And then we dig the culture inside and taking the mingzu.

Our internet in the school is ok, all the computer classroom has the internet, and all the computer has the webpage making software. After class, our group go to make the webpage.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

One, not master on the webpage making, owing to the lack skill in the info-tech class,so Mr. Yan direct us and then, heavy burden in the school, many students works till the 7 pm. Owing to some far students, Mr. Yan has to send them back home one by one, he himself back home about 10 o’clock. Two, hard to interview. Every time, we went to interview will spend Mr. Yan’s money.he will do everything well. So he invite us to eat all the food, though we are happy ,we don’t want him to spend too much. Three, hard to visit. For this festival, its origin and habit cannot be explained by the technicians, because some of them has several saying, such as the duanwu origin, some says it is for quyuan, but we found many in the interview. We start to think that those are wrong. And some others are not clear by the teachers and governments. So we went to the culture museum. When our students get the answer, we are so happy.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

this way we experience too much. First time use the camera, first do the webpage, first make the webpage, first attend the match. so much first time, we know each other and deeply understand there is nothing cannot do, just didn’t think. We trust we will benefit from this.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

This time we take the Qinghai duanwu style and culture as the main line, combing Chinese, history, geography, culture, computer, and social communication. From our outside, and marks, we know many things about duanwu. We do the job for us, which we cannot learn at the classroom. At the same time, in the process, we encourage, communicate with each other not only strengthen our friendship, and cohesive. In our way, we get the selfless help, we also learn to love and care others. We trust that we should continue learning and study.

Frontpage, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Outlook Express, Internet Explorer, ACDSee, CuteFtp, QQ Internet: e-mail. Website forum, FTP Server, wideband.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

We thought that we want everyone to know duanwu character and culture. We are lucky that we are the embassy to let more people to know our homeland, culture inside, we hold the meeting in the theme of duanwu festival and carrying on the traditional culture. We also search the details, and survey in the different people. We take the survey and hand out to the different people, local villager, government office, and old man and lady. We hope we can strengthen the understanding of the homeland, we will make the webpage and upload our website. We let more people know homeland with the internet.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

1, this time we are happy to attend the webpage match, because it bring the many knowledge and let us really feel the national site. We never feel confidence and we know rich of the traditional culture. 2, we start to know that we just eat the cool noodle and insert the branches. But through the interview, we are more deeply know it. Before we know the things shallowly. Taking the duanwu as an example, we just know the cool noodle, and insert the branches we go to the root. We find why we eat the cool noodle and insert the branches so that we know the rich culture inside. 3, from the internet match we learn a lot unlearned from the book. Such as the considering way, solving way, affecting our growing fast. In the process of research, we feel the importance of carrying on the traditional culture.people in our homeland knows more about duanwu and further culture inside. 4, sharing enthusiasm and confidence: we are special group, having the confidence and stick. When we met the problems, we support and encourage each other. We all encouraged cohesive is the power. At the same time, our friendhship is more deep. We trust that we will face the problem with this feeling.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

With the process, we are close to the group and culture. We hope next duanwu coming soon. We can experience again the charming Qinghai duanwu. We feel our culture is deep and complicated. In the process, we meet he problem of cooperation and understanding and encouraging. We understand that we can only go on with the communication and responsibility.
