Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Zabrze is located in the west of the province of Silesia, now it is inhabited by about 200 thousand people. Is one of the largest cities of Silesia. With a dozen of Zabrze great personalities include: Janosch - Silesian writer and illustrator, Norbert Grzegorz Kroczek - director, Zbigniew Religa - a professor of medicine, and Krystian Zimerman - the world-renowned pianist and conductor. in our town once the mine is developed. But now we can only admire visit the mines, which created open-air museums. In Zabrze there are many historic buildings, mainly from the nineteenth and early twentieth century, such as historic buildings in the center of Zabrze, workers' settlements, sacred places.

2. Summary of Our Project

Made by the project aims to give us the essence of the books in the life of every young man. The inspiration for our action was a form of creativity and Janoscha. After many hours spent in libraries, we could clearly see the work of the artist. We searched the Internet with the help of interviews, many of whom we learned something about his childhood and youth years.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

While working on our project, we came across several problems. Finding necessary materials was the main problem. Not all pupils have got computers, so they worked only in school. Some of pupils resign work project.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Most of the problems caused us to obtain authorization from the parties, which we used in our work. Few minor problems were the main introduce motto. Lack of time also resulted in that we had to meet in our private homes.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We used books, internet publications, computer software and oral interviews

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Parents appeared to be very helpful as well. Some of them helped us by working with their children at home. All engaged people were amazed that our students are researching and creating their own web

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

The materials contained in our project allowed us to conduct discussions on the lessons of Polish Language and the lessons to life in a family of people in communities

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Here we present our teachers responsible for the project: Mrs Ewa Widera - an information technology teacher and the initiator of the project. She was responsible for the whole CyberFair project and the contacts with various institutions through electronic mail. She worked with the groups of students, checked their works and helped with all necessary problems. Many thanks also go Tatiana Rembas for her help in translation.
