Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Huinong Distric locates in the northest of Ningxia Hu Automomous Region. There are three villages and three towns here. With the area of 1088 square kilometers, the population is 209 thousand. In February 2004, approved by the State Council, the original Huinong County was cancelled and became Huinog District in Shizuishan City. Richly endowed by nature, Huinong District has natural resources. National road 110 and 109, highways and railways go across the district. There are networks of traffic and telecommunications. Infrastructures such as water, heating and electricity are well constructed There are 888.7 thousand mu of cultivated area. There are more than 150 thousand mu to be developed in large scale. Industry of goji is one of the three pillar industries of Huinong Distric, which has bring a lot of benefits to the local people.

2. Summary of Our Project

Shengwei city, the corner of the western xia kingdom Though we go through the 24 history, we even cannot find any small piece of words. “ Western xia” was historically named as “ disappearing item”. In the history, the stands near the stands; people near the people; the sound rises here and there; the magnificent house; the high-figured knight on the horse. in only one night, the prosperous nomadism group culture are ruined by the earthquake. No opening and it become the miracle of the thousands of years. We walk in to the shengwei city again with the endless hope to our homeland culture and history to explore the secret of it.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

In this acticity, I reknow the xingwei city , and also sense the burden on our shoulder--- work for th exingwie city future. In the website, we revise , perfect, stop. But we never stop at tire, business and confusion. In this several months, I feel I am growing, consistent and confident. Seeing our complicated web site, I am full of sense of success.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

In our group, though the job designing is very clear. The contribution rate is very hard to count by number. When facing a problem, all members are talk, solve together; when meeting frustration, all members are standing together to overcome. Ever step forward is our joint effort. These month, all of us, both teachers and students, have already combined together.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

through this activity, our teacher and students’ ability has leaped over in using computer. More important, all these 4 students know the important value and significance, and let around students have same feeling.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

The web design competition is a lesson to improve our ability in comprehensive practice. It emphasizes the experiences such as those of setbacks. While the young people in modern society lack the relevant experiences. In concept, some leaders and teachers have not realized the importance of the experiences. This competition gives us an opportunity to realize nature, society and ourselves, as well as the ability to cooperate and communicate. It gives us an opportunity to learn how to settle the problems. The teachers and students have a different opinions towards us. They have realized the importance of practice from our change, especially the maths teacher of Wu Li who have also felt the change of Wu Li. The leaders of our school will hold more activities to train the students.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Du Tiancai: headmaster of Huinong Middle School The purpose of our education is to train students in all aspects and make them show their love towards the hometown. The theme of the competition is consistent with the purpose of our education, so we support the activity and do what we can to help them. I hope they can win in the competition.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

The villagers interviewed by us impress me much. They warmly welcome us and support us. They are very hospitable. They hope their gojis can be sold abroad so that they will become rich. I love my hometown and I am proud of it. As a native, I should do my best to make my contributions to my hometown.
