Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

The famous scenic area of Simian Mountains is located in Jiangjin in the southwest of Chongqing and is 140km away from Chongqing . There are 420 thousand mu of broadleaf trees in the scenic area which is the only one forest belt of the same latitude in the world. There are more than 2000 kinds of animals and plants, 28 waterfalls and eight lakes, all of which make up 128 scenic spots.

The mountains spread hundreds of miles. The forests and lakes, mountains form a beautiful picture. The Mengbifeng, Lianrenyan, Shizishan and Xiangbiling are formed by nature and are noted for the spectacles.

A lot of waterfalls, lakes and streams in the area add the beauty. The water spreads in the forests and valleys which is pure and transparent. It is like the soul of the Simian Mountains .

Mentou River is the gateway of Simian Mountains . And Wangxiangtai is the most spectacular waterfall in the Simian Mountains which is 152 meters high and 377 meters wide. The visitors are always shocked by the great power of the waterfall.

The forests in the Simian Mountains have various species, which is classified by the experts in the UN as the “natural base of species”. There are some ancient species which are 350 million years old.

Other scenic spots include Wangxiangtai Waterfall, Dahonghai, Shuikou Temple , Dawopu Primeval Forest , Feilong Temple , Wolongfou, Tudiyan and etc.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

During the process of web design, the tools are most borrowed from school by teachers. We owe our gratitude to the leaders in our school who give us great support in web design.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Through this activity, we find it is rather difficult for the children in villages to receive education. We should treasure the opportunities of studying in school and we should try our best to help these children in villages.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

With the rapid development of economy in our country, the living standards have been enhanced and the tourism has also developed quickly. We want to introduce the scenic area to other people to let them enjoy the natural beauty as well as protect it.
