Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Qilian Mountain is as majestic as always, the Gualang Gorge still plunges as steeply, and the Yellow Sheep River still flows protectively around the town. There is still a severe drought, harvests are unchanged, and the residents continue to struggle to survive on infertile land. However, the arrival of the internet succeeds in bridging all gaps between Yellow Sheep River and the outside world. For the first time in memory, villagers harbor hopes and dreams. Their fates are soon to change. In the years since Town and Talent Technologies has worked with this remote town, they have installed IT school computer classrooms. They have the opportunity to do e-business. Events such as official government inspections, news courage, and visits from honored overseas guests have rendered Yellow Sheep River a place knows in the hearts and minds of all. They have found a way to solute poverty.

Interview: As Sayling Wen’s friends are spread in Taiwan, China mainland, USA and other nations, we have to overcome the difficulty of space an time. Thanks to their cooperation and our endeavor, we solve all the problems and finish the website in time. Picture possessing: As we have no pictures of Sayling Wen in hands, we have to borrow the pictures and scan them into computer. Our school offers great help in this problem. We spent our weekends in scanning pictures and making web pages.

Design: This is the first time we make web pages by ourselves. The supervising teachers and the team members lack previous experience in webpage construction. We have to consult others whenever difficulties arise; hence, we have to overcome all kinds of hardships and difficulties during the process. We often confused with the location of headlines and photos. However, with our endeavor and help from Town and Talent Technologies, we have succeeded in completing the website. We are proud of ourselves and the experience is unforgettable. Interview schedule: As most of Sayling’s friends are quite busy, we have to arrange the schedule in advance and think about the questions carefully. In this way, each team member learns how to arrange schedule. Information searching: As Sayling has left for several years, we consider to make a website to show his different aspects. And thus, we interview his school, learn his participation of social services, and his company-Town and Talent Technologies. We also interview local villages and leaders.
