1. Description of Our Community
Huangyuan, locates the east of famous Sun and Moon Mountain and the source of Huangshui River, covers 1509 square kilometers. It consists of 9 village, 2 towns, 147 administration districts, 7 communities, which has a 140000 population and 13 people: Han, Zang, Mongo, Hui etc. Huangyuan County are also known as “main connection of Qinghai and Tibet” and “throat of Qinghai and Tibet” for it has Ningge road, 109 national highway, 315 national highway, Qingxin road through it. Huangyuan County is teemed with the agriculture and byproduct, such as wheat, yam, vegetable, especially the horse bean enjoys the international reputation; with 13 kinds of the mineral material as rock gold, copper, iron, mine, limestone and granite, large reserves and exploit potential; with various kinds of wild life, mainly musk, wolf, silver fox, otter etc, more than 40 kinds; with wild plant more than 480 kinds, among them rhubarb, mint, zangyinchen (medicine name), chaihu (medicine name), aweto are the in the market both home and abroad and Juecai (vegetable name) and hemp enjoy high nutritious value. Its unique geographic position has totally 47 sites with positive future, which contains the natural and ecological tourism resource, such as the Great Black Valley, Western Stone Valley, Yaoshui Valley, Huashi Valley, Zongjia Valley, and human tourism resource, mainly Sun and Moon Mountain ancient site culture, Chenghuang Temple, zhazang temple, Tang and Fan ancient corridor.
2. Summary of Our Project
Early as the Jiaqing emperor and Daoguang emperor’s ruling period, the shop hang the signboard out to attract the customers. The signboard is very simple but quite novelty with the candles inside and light at night. From that, this kind of the signboard became more and more exquisite and delicate with the crave-edged foundation and designs. Being set at the both side or the lintel of the shop gate, the lighting signboards with various shape shine the dark night like daylight, which make Huangyuan as the north-western plateau “sleepless city”. With the influx of many customers from the inner land, the progressed culture of center area was also introduced. Many shop owners uniquely change the signboard introduced from center area to large-sized lamp row crossing the street--- the Huangyuan Lamp Row finally come into being, which is the object of the themed researched projects. It mainly covered the origin, procedure, evolve and even crisis of the lamp row. Through the research, we can let more and more people to know, inherit and publicize the lamp row out from county, city to worldwide.

As our school is quite far from the county, the web internet is still not available. The only way is to use the telephone line with 4k per second. The computer are not available at home, so normally, they practice the computer at the appointed computer room in school in noon time.
4. Problems We Had To Overcome
As we have attended second time the web page match, we are more experienced and better in collecting the details. Not only collect the all kinds of lamp row, but also words information are collected. We can make it , mainly because the importance attached to the lamp row development. Recent years, our county government try her best to achieve the renaissance of the lamp row on the north-western tableland, so they invest a lot on lamp row making, both on manpower, material and finance, and build up the Huangyuan Lamp Row researching company. But the students should put our study as the number one, so during the procedures fo collecting, interviewing and making, there is some difficulties, such as the dean don’t want the student to attend for worrying their study would be disrupted. Thanks to our master, Kui Shengliang, always coordinated and persuade the teachers and strongly support us, we can fulfill this themed researching projects.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
The is the second time for us to attend the internet expo. Through the train organized by the townandtalent company, we decide to choose Huangyuan Lamp Row as our topic. After deciding, our teachers and we are working on collecting the information. Our classmates are designated to collect some pictures and information reflecting the lamp row. They are work carefully and go to the computer room to organize the details collected in noon time, and write down their date. We upload the frame to internet at early September for Ms. He’s comment. She point out the fault and comment to us. She recommended that our web page should reflect the students joining and tech-processing the web page. With all this comment, our target are more clear. Our mates all the way go to the culture museum to interview with the researcher of the Huangyuan Lamp Row; Mr. Yang zenggui, the craftsmanl and others for character painting, embroidery and paper-cutting. They told us their experience and many other stories about the lamp row. We learned a lot from them. Under the following instructions of the Ms. He, we work it out smoothly. Above all, from making the web page for the Internet EXPO, we learn a lot , especially, the power of the group.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
through this internet expo activity themed research plan, our students know more about the huangyuan lamp row, as the national non-material culture heritage. Knowing its development and current situation, our students are willing to join this activity and publicize in the campus after the webpage making. When we show the site in the ladder classroom, we received praise and encouragement, at same time, let more joining us for advise. Also we let more people to be interested in the computer course. Many students wish to join our group to make the webpage. We are so proud that, everyone can be the master.
