Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

We are from Guei-Ren, Tainan.

Sugar apple is a famous fruit here.

It's very delicious and nutritious and good for you.

There are four elementary schools in our hometown.

People here are kind and friendly. It's a very nice place.

2. Summary of Our Project

Sugar apple Day is one of the major festivals in our country Guei-Ren, Tainan.

Our city holds a festival on Sugar apple Day every year.

This project will introduce the activities of festival of sugar apple Day to you.

We hope everyone like that.

Additionally,our team will study the plant of sugar apple deeply.

Our computers are medium new. We often use them in compuer laboratory of our school. That place is convenient for us to internet access.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We met several difficulties in the course of our research about sugar apple in order to complete the contest of the International Schools CyberFair 2006. On the one part we learned confining English that let us cannot express ourselves freely,on the other part we have limited time to do sugar apple research. Consequently we must avail ourselves of leisure time of school to study english or on vacation proceed doing research about sugar apple which is famous fruit of our country.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We have some excellent teachers in our school,they teach us knowledge of doing research,skills of editing home page and how to get along with others. We also hove lovely community in our country. Sugar apple Day is quite hilarious there.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We attended the activities of sugar apple Day in our country Guei-Ren, Tainan. We also interviewed the farmers of planting sugar apple in garden there. In addtion to that,we taked a scientific approach to the problem if the bigger of sugar apple leads to the better quality of it. After passing through the training above mentioned,we made fast progress towards the goal of study.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We used orel interviews in order to understand farmers how to plant sugar apple. We also used several tools,for example,digital cameras and tape recorders and scanners and so on,to take pictures or recording sound of doing sugar apple research or attending the activities of sugar apple Day in our country. In addition to that,we used computer softwares to edit our home page about our participating International Schools CyberFair 2006. Besides,in order to take a scientific approach of sugar apple we must use experimental tools. To sum up,we used many tools and technologies to complete our project. All of them are important to us.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

We sent e-mails to the people who are interested in our projest. We also made an announcement of our research by internet to notice all students and all people who had been to connect the page of noticed information. In addition to that,we called the people who received our interview about sugar apple research by telephone.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

To learn English is the most important challenge for us to complete our project about sugar apple research. Besides,our leisure time and vacations were cut down for doing research and editing pages.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

The farmers of sugar apple in our country offered technical assistance of planting sugar apple in the research is greatly appreciated. Besides,the farmers' association of our country is the sponsor of the activities of sugar apple Day. All of them are helpers of our project.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

At the very start,we did not know there is a so good fruit in our country. But when we did our research of sugar apple planted in our country,we had been an expert of the fruit. Besides,we lost heart to finish our project at first. But when we participated in the contest practically,we were full-hearted completing it. These surprises and discoveries are very helpful to our learning in the future. So we all value the experience of this time.
