Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Called ' Takau harbour ' in the past in the Kaohsiung Harbor, the Kaohsiung Harbor opened the port and had trade relations formally in three years with managing in Qing Dynasty, already have a history of 140 years till now, is being opened up and extending constantly, the Kaohsiung Harbor is one of ten major ports of the world. From ' Takau crack ' being to ' first port ', from ' break out the crack ' to ' the second port ', from small traditional fishing village to international container harbour, the busy passenger steamer, cargo ship, container wheel which pass in and out the Kaohsiung Harbor from morning till night, let construction and development of Kaohsiung Harbor, is it bring up Kaohsiung City to prosper, write the abundant Taiwan industry development history at the same time.

2. Summary of Our Project

The Kaohsiung City is the ' marine capital ' of Taiwan, the Kaohsiung Harbor is during different historical time, push hands in importance of acting Kaohsiung City development. Our special topic is from three time axles mainly ( In the past, now, in the future) ,To know ' the marine capital lifeline - the Kaohsiung Harbor '.

Our network environment use the school network and network in a household more. The network of the school is 100MB optic fibre special line which is quarried the Chinese telecommunication Limited Company. There is 8MB / 2MB, 3MB / 512K, 2MB in the family / such ways as 512K different and frequently wide ADSL, Cable,etc. Dr.eye: are connected with the on-line network, everybody has one's own E-mail mailboxes.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

It is a blessing to participate in classmates and all study very conscientiously, and parents all helped in a more cost-effective manner, overcame this difficult problem at last.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Social field: Use resource, the past, now, in the future that investigate, understand the Kaohsiung Harbor on the spot of community. Information educating: Use every software to array data, make webpages, use network science and technology to transmit the materials with discussing on-linely, let students understand the world of study is borderless.

Writing of ' the case study ', it is the homework in every winter and summer vacation of our school, the students have all already been used to this procedure. This time we are the strength of the set group, spends more time, there is systematic doing a ' case study ', make ' case study ' webpage appear, webpage will let ' case study ' exciting to deepen, not too vivid and interesting at the same time.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Let us treasure the honor which become the sub member of a nationality in the ocean further, become the marine capital scene of wishing with the Kaohsiung City. I believe one day, the efforts of all of us, with paying, the rank in the seaport is sure to come out at the top once again in the world in the Kaohsiung Harbor, even dominate the whole world!

See everybody is dealing in the Kaohsiung Harbor so conscientiously, I think I should make great efforts too, go to find out about more anything about Kaohsiung Harbor more, hope that I even can be a mental and physical efforts to the limit in the Kaohsiung Harbor and Kaohsiung City to have one day.
