4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Because the average age of the students is 9 to 10, we should pay more attention to learn everything about the research. Therefore, our team studied harder and used more leisure time to learn and do the research to overcome the problems we suffered. We have little resource to use, and we must do all by ourselves. Being lack of money, we should barrow the equipment, like digital camera, digital record, etc from others and we should overcome finding the vehicle since observing outdoors.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

No pains,no gains.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

By this research, our team learn a lot. Because the revolution of education in Taiwan is beginning, we just correspond with spirit of aims. The students learn by doing and they learn how to take care of their community. We use the digital tech by recording the process and presenting the result. Although the age of the students is small, they study very hard.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

By doing the research, we use the equipments and skill as lists: Computers, telephones, digital camera, scanners, libraries, books, newspapers, and oral interviews.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

The students of the team are very lusty and they are happy to communicate with the adults. By the way of oral interviews, they have the chance to interview with the people. It is the role of an ambassador they play.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

The issue of the wild birds' care in the country attracts less attention. By our research, we let many people in our community recognize the beauty of our environment, and only when we protect the environment well, the wild birds will breed. It's a circle between the human beings and the wild birds.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

We should thank for many people for helping us and that we can finish our research. There are many people in our community to help us enthusiastically and the information and data we collect are given from many professors. At last, we should thank the Chang-Hua Wild Birds Association a lot.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

The beauty of the wild birds and their living environment attracts the people who know to treasure. Sometimes we slow down our pitch and we will find the whole new world.
