1. Description of Our Community

The Fabulous Actress-Aunt Wen Ing lives in Banciao City. She dabbles in different fields-acting, singing, hosting and even playing on the stage. Although she was born in a poor family, her courage to challenge everything and her aggressive working attitude are worth us learning. In addition, Aunt Wen Ing’s native Taiwanese performances convey the previous life to the audience. In fact, it’s just a local culture, isn’t it? We sincerely hope that to pass on our Taiwanese language culture by means of Aunt Wen Ing’s proverb teaching.

2. Summary of Our Project

Aunt Wen Ing has been in the show business for almost forty years. She always can bring the happiness to the audiences on the stage. Her broad-minded, outspoken, and optimistic personality made her become the most popular distinguished actress in Taiwan. Above all, she recently dubbed the first Taiwanese animation “Grandma and her Ghosts”. Her unique voice made us think of our own grandparents’ rich and colorful stories. Wen Ing’s profuse life made the audiences have deep feelings. Therefore, we hope to deeply understand Aunt Wen Ing by interviewing her and learn her aggressive, optimistic and responsible attitudes.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

I had a lot of pressure with regards to my study. We had to do the homepage and study at the same time. Every day I went home late and didn’t go to my cram school. I didn’t get good grades on my tests and was blamed by teachers and parents. Fortunately, my teachers, encouraged me to finish the homepage. Solution: Arrange my time well and make a schedule to study and do the homepage.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Although we live in Banciao and we know a lot of people here, what we learned is still not enough. When we interviewed Aunt WEN ING, we got a better chance to interact with the local TV studio. Everybody has his/her own hard-working process, and the parts to be imitated by others. We hope this homepage can help more people to know whether you are somebody or nobody, all you need to do is your best and give 100 % to your work, and never give it up.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Discoveries: To join the International Schools CyberFair aroused our potential and harnessed our abilities, for instance , we made progress in writing. The teachers spent a lot of time teaching us how to write a good article and we did get improved marks on our composition. In addition to this, we have to work together so we help each other and know how important the teamwork is. 2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

1.Prologue This is when the Dean of Studies bumped into Aunt WEN ING. 2.The First Touch we sent her a card to show her of our sincerity and then she graciously accepted our interview. 3.Before The Scenes Aunt WEN ING invited us to see the shooing of her program and let us experience how hard to make a program. 4.Behind The Scenes In order to understand how to make a program behind the scenes, we interviewed ATTV in Banciao. 5.Share all the students in Ta-Kuan could meet Aunt WEN ING’s spirit and experience what we experienced.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

A well-known actress, Aunt WEN ING, lives in Banciao too. During her show business life, we can see her in soap operas, movies, stages, or in the host parts. She has the courage and conviction to challenge everything and her aggressive view of life and it is worth learning from her. A good play not only needs the entertainers’ good performance but also needs a good team working behind the scenes. Therefore, in addition to introducing Aunt WEN ING, we would like to experience the making of programs whether in front of or behind the scenes.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Throughout the interview process, we met a lot of people, for example, the people from different departments in ATTV. They were also very interested in our special topic and provided us with a lot of precious experience. They even let us experience being an anchor and showed our news on the local TV news. Because of the cooperation between ATTV and our school, it gave us the chance to meet more people and see more of Banciao.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

1.Discovery:Because of the guidance of the teacher, whether doing the homepage or the interview is new to us and it’s just like a learning journey. 2.Lessons:In the future, if we have a similar project to do; we have to ensure we do not make the same mistake again. We think we have recorded everything, but we found that some of the contents were not so clear so we still need to take notes. 3.Surprises:we found that Aunt WEN ING’s success is not only because of her aggressive view of life but also because of attitudes which she didn’t forsake for anybody or anything, and she was not afraid of failure. She leads her life attentively and never gives up her dreams.
