1. Description of Our Community
Kaohsiung City is a place where industries are booming. However, a quite large amount of pollution is caused as a result. The waste water from the industries and filthy water from households is directly or indirectly flowed into the Love River, seriously polluting the whole Love River. It has become a river where no fish swims and with stink and no one wants to get close to it. To locate the past charm of the Love River, it has become a major target for Kaoh-siung City Government to speed up dredging the Love River. With the continuation of the dredging, water quality of the Love River has been stabilizing. In combination with the unique features and landscape on the two sides of the River, the recreation scenery of clear river of the Lover River is built.

During the study on this project, we have had the interaction for over a year with a certain mutual understanding, which makes the communication easily, although we still encountered some problems during the preparation.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Completion of a work is never done by one single person. During our preparation, we ex-perienced happiness, anger, sadness and joy and learnt a lot. We often heard people say that traveling makes you learn more than studying. This might be it. During the course of the competition, interchange of both parties is often required to proceed. Therefore, “communica-tion” is the most important issue. How to make positive interactions with other people will be what we gain most in this competition.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
All of us have traveled the whole Love River areas and experienced many things because of this project. “You should know what happen in the hometown as you come from there.” The concept of intimacy to the people, lands and hometowns have always rooted in our hearts. The rich changes of geographical landscape and historical relics aroused our feelings to get to know Kaohsiung, which led us to understand Kaohsiung geography and history. Since when has the old city appearance turned to what we see now with skyscrapers eve-rywhere? However, “Heart of Kaohsiung and Feeling of the Harbor City” still remain in our hearts. Understanding the geographic environment, history of industrial development, a name with historical meaning and each building carving the modern appearance of Kaohsiung arouse our views to care and love our hometowns and further develop the interpersonal rela-tionship to take care this land from all of us.
