Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Taoyuan was called "Hu-mao-chuan" ,where the aboriginal Kaidarglan-clan lived in the past in Taiwan . For many years,People brought wasteland under cultivation here and planted peach trees that flowered beautifully in Spring in Ching Dynasty, so thay call here "Tao-wha yuan"(means peach garden).

There are many well designed and planed public facilieies around Taoyuan's mountain , such as Taoyuan-Stadium, Confucius-Temple, Schools, hospitals etc., those supply most of the life necessity of the city and let residents spend their leisure time.

In the center of Taoyuan, The Big-Temple "Jing-Fu Temple" lived ,where people always commit their sout to .For preserving and respecting the culture of the Chinese forms building,?Taoyaun's government place importance here.

2. Summary of Our Project

Taoyuan city is full of Color of folk arts, also preserves the traditional forms that different from many urban ereas. There are still a lot of traditional arts exists in Our community, such as traditional cake stores, paper cutting arts store etc. ,Our community is a modernized city but full traditional arts.

Now we would focus our research on Chinese Paper pasting and cutting arts that are almost used in funeral and festival. To estimated that there are now just two Paper pasting and Cutting stores in the Taoyuan City, so we want to find out and introduce the magic tradition Chinese arts to the world people.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

1.Information Getting: For few data about Papper Cutting & Pasting Arts in Taoyuan , so we hard to find them out.

2.Technology: We spent a lot of time to learn more about the web technology ,such as graphic design,page design,multimedia design and etc.

3.Well team working: It's not easy to organize opinions from everyone at the start,but we overcome at all.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

The internet is the big hand aids the traditional arts to represent, but Only we can get Papper Cutting & Pasting Arts to go on in Taoyuan.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

1. We are the traditional arts group.

2. We introduced the webpage to our students for fitting into our required schoolor ,and put it on the internet to present the traditional arts to the world

3. We learn flash, Namo ,the web design skill and the most of the graphic working basic skill just like Ulead Photoimpact. 4.We get the importance concepts about "group cooperation" during our team working time.

5. By discuss and argu with each other , then we get the specific ideas.

6.Through team work design cyberfairs webpages, We go a lot of traditional arts presenting ideas, and we show it on school web ,using it out teacher can easily teach student the Papper arts in Taoyuan. We also invited the arts masters to school, teaching students and community.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

1. There are 6 or more computers we used,and they are just Pentium II class.

2. we collect the information from TV , and Web pages, library .

3. We toke photo by digital cameras, it is helpful and some old picture had to be represent by scanners

4. We collect the sound using tape recorders.

5. Other medias about the represent tools, such as web design software,graphic software,multimedia software.

------------------------------------------------------ These tools helped us during every team works: Collectiion: using library,web,photo,books. Writing: using word processor. Web-design:graphic, web, multimedia software.

Everyone thought the most valuable tools is different, but everyone will think the "digital camera" is the most helpfull in this project.

We use Namo web design tool that from Korea, It is the most excellent software we have ever seen for composing web content.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Also, we are the the ambassador in our community ,we contacted and talked to people in our community, by web show, most people can directly lern more about the traditional papper arts, and we invite the master to teach in our school.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

1.Will your project make a difference? Ans: Yes, we choosed the title ,and it was not popular in Taiwan, and we made it. 2.Have people in your community learned new things through your Web pages? Ans: sure, we invitie community to paticipate our traditional arts lesson and they learn a lot.

3.Have other people around the world learned new things about your community? Ans: Now we represent it to the world ,we hope it will help. 4.Have you established some new working relationships with people in your community? Who besides you and your students has looked at your Web pages? Ans: By school corses and teaching, there are many people look through our school webpage,and we got reponses from the web gustbook. 5.What kind of feedback have you received? Ans: Our feedback from the website shows they learn more about the traditional information.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

We just asked for our teachers and parrents to help us to be a good people who are a good ideas supplier and suggester.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

After these web pages design, we found :

1.The history of the Papper Cutting & Pasting arts has been existed for long times.

2. So the using of the Papper pasting & Cutting Arts in every day lives is popular.

2. The website design must be by team working ,for it is so difficult and huge to make.
