2. Summary of Our Project
In order to put into practice the philosophy of respecting life as promoted by Master Cheng Yen, a group of medical volunteers from different organizations in Taiwan established the Tzu Chi medical association (TIMA) in October 1996, One year later, with the hope of treating both physical and mental illnesses around the world, TIMA expanded to include almost a dozen overseas locations. By continuing to provide medical care along with numerous other Tzu Chi international relief teams, TIMA members hope to spread the notion of the Great Love across all boundaries all over the world.
