Shengkeng is the most famous Tofu town in Taiepi because it is noted for its bean curd. You might think that the above is a everyone-know-it statement. But we would like you to know that besides tofu, we are going to introduce things you may not have known before!

2. Summary of Our Project

Shengkeng is a simple old town and tofu has always been its most well-known local products. It is also worth sharing its historyical sites and stories with everyone! That we do this project to let guys know this lovely place.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home:more than 50%

B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom:2-3

C. Connection speed used in the classroom:dedicated connection

D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet:more than 6

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

We encountered certain difficulties when makeing decision abbout colors and designs. That is, we had to consider the feelings of the coherence with its topic. Besides, when we went trails were slippery owing to the bad weather and we fell sometimes.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Learning is a journey of pleasure and a thrilling experience for all of us. This year our project on Shengkeng was much more difficult than the project on Wanhua last year. It is because our school is located in Wanhua but now it takes almost an hour to get to Shengkeng. The weather there was not very good and we sometimes fell on the muddy roads. However, it is worth the effort!

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

In recent years, our government has been promoting the integration of local culture into the course design with their origin. It's hoped that through our efforts people here will be able to know about Shenkeng, it's culture and values. There might be some people who do not consider this see important;however,it cannot be denied that we can see what our ancestors had learned and done from the foods stalls, ancient housesm and humanity aspects. We indeed learn a lot from the process;it's believed that Shenkeng itself is learning. The town is learning how to integrate itself into our fast-changing society. We would like to say that introducing Shenkeng to the world is definitely not as waste.

And we had been to librany to search lots informations. We read every traval magazine and news parer. We have watched telvision for the Shenkeng information.

Our school provide 10 computers for us to do this project.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

When we conducted our field research in Shenkeng,we showed our sincerity and ask people questions directly. Usually, people there were willing to be interviewedas well as let us take pictures. Our role is multi-functional. first of all, our project is educational and informative. Also, putting the information on the Internet would help promote the tourism and prosperity in Shenkeng.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

All of us in this project now have a better understanding of shenkeng. During the process of information collection and field investigation, we exoerinced the attraction of shenkeng in person. We are deeply moved by the hospitality of the local people.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

This project is about Shenkeng, which is a town not that close to our school compared to the projects our elders had done before. Thanks to many new friends we met in Shenkeng, our project website could be done in time. Although the weather was uaually not very food every time we visited there, people there still showed their greastest hospitality to us. Our school also provided us with useful hardware equipment, such as computers and digital camera. Im addition, some teachers gave us suggestions when necessary.
