Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Wuchi is located in the mid-west part of Taiwan. Maybe Taichung Harbor is more familiar to you. Actually if you go all the west from Taichung City, you will get to Wuchi. The early habitants here are farmers or fishers. Wuchi was once very properous during the end of dynasty -- Chin. People here are very generous and kind. We hope that more people will get to know Wuchi through this project.

2. Summary of Our Project

This project collect informarion about the Wuchi Art&Culture Association. This Association cares about the spiritual level of social development. They often hold activities on the topics of care&unite. In order to introduce the association to more people, we have chosen Wuchi Art&Culture Association as our topic.

The internet connection is quick handy for us to collect information necessary for this project.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Of course, the main difficulty for this project is language. Most students have to spend lots of time checking the dictionary. Then they will go to the English teacher at our school if they can't solve the problems by themselves. I think this must quite bother the English teachers. Well it is also a good chance to make them learn English...

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Actually everyone who know about this project is very exciting, because we deliver the message to the world. Especially the members of the Wuchi Art&Culture Association.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

1.Our CyberFair project address teamwork, honstyand devotion. 2.By utilizing the knowage learned from the school and the experience of community service, we fit this project into our objectives of education. 3.The communicating skill and unity concept. 4.We learned how to coorperate with others. 5.By group brain storming or deep meditation. 6.The topic of this project is perfectly fit into the requirements for our social science class. 7.We can make a difference in education through the realization of this project. 8.Not quite. We found that the information on the internet has to be filtered before we can totally believe.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We use the following tools and technologies to complete our CyberFair project. 1.Five PIV 1.5G computers 2.One telephone. 3.One digital still camera. 4.One scanner. 5.One tape recorders. 6.Computer software:Photo Impact,Frontpage Editor. 7.Two Libraries. 8.Some books. 9.Eleven oral interviews.

Questions to Consider 1.How did these tools help you? We use these tool to collect necessary information and organize them into web pages. 2.Where did you locate each tool? Most of the tools are available in school. 3.Were any tools donated by businesses or schools? Most of the tools belong to the school. 4.What were your most valuable tools? Why? Our mind. Bacause without it, we can't make the whole project meaningful. 5.Which technologies were the most helpful? How? The internet technologies were for we can be hooked to the world.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

For this projects, we conduct eleven time of interviews. The standard procedure of interview is: 1.Collecting information about the targeted person and come up with appropriate questions to ask. 2.Make a formal telephone call to setup appointment. 3.Prepare all equipments necessary for the interview,such as:camera,recorder... 4.Get to the appointment spot before appointment time. 5.Formal interview. 6.Organize the data collect. 7.Make web pages.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Questions to Consider

1.Will your project made a difference? Yes,everyone who is aware of the project gets very exciting for he/she thinks it's cool to be described in a formal international evnts. 2.What is unique about your presentation within your community? I think it is the first time to be uncovered about the story of the Wuchi Art&Culture Association. 3.Have people in your community learned new things through your Web pages? Yes,they are amazed that so many activities have been done before. They said they will participate if there are activities. 4.Have other people around the world learned new things about your community? I hope so. 5.Have you established some new working relationships with people in the community? Who besides you and your students has looked at your Web pages? The team members win award from the association. And almost all the members of the association have looked at the webpages already. 6.What kind of feedback have you received? Most of the feedback came from the association. 7.How has your Web site helped them? Collect and reorganize the activities and history of the Wuchi Art&Culture Association.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Most helpers are volunteer workers of the association. They provide the information that we need for this project. Correct the myths of project direction...and so on.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

Before we do this project,we never know that it is so difficult to build a website. After we finish this project, we found that other team's websites are so various in both contents and design. But the biggest achievement is to participate in this international event.
