5. Our Project Sound Bite

This competition can help the school authority on making teaching aids and teaching activities. As for us, we can also learn a lot of skills on making web pages and hardworking.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Everyone of us learned a lot from participating this activity. Besides knowing the development of our Electronic business world, we also acquire the technical of being a citizen of e generation. We use Internet to find data and E-mail to transmit data. Through the process, we build up deep friendship and good teamwork.

In the process, we learned technical of computer which is most related to our ¡§Computer science class¡¨. Except that, we practice typing, search data, compile programs and write reports. Besides these, we learned a lot on social course. Other than the data we collected, the report we wrote, it has helped us to analyze and arrange the data more efficiently, which is a great help to manage our social science course. Finding the proper expression on the report helps us on our Chinese Course. To us, since we have already entered the computer generation, why not use CAI and Internet to teach. Though some students may be absent-minded sometimes, But on the general, it can fulfill the curiosity of learners, and help students to understand not just the traditional course. Besides, they can have access to new know-how of wider range. We believe it will reduce the above-mentioned pressure.

Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We use telephone, scanner, Internet, books¡K anything that¡¦s cheap, available or easy to access to help us to complete the job. As for communication, we think telephone is the most convenient one. As long as both sides are available, it can be used at any time, and can reach to people with farther distance. Other communication technique such as e-mail and fax are also two most widely used tools. As for data search, Internet is the most convenient one. As to acquire unique and convincing information, face-to-face interview is the best method. We use various resources at the same time to help us to complete the web pages to make sure the various data have been collected. Without the previous mentioned technical, it will be a lot more difficult for us to collect data, and our final report won¡¦t be so outstanding. Our most sincere thanks to all those brilliant inventions.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

We tried to contact the companies witch is related to Electronic Business by phone; unfortunately we did not get their response. Then, we called at their office. Still we were rejected due to so-called improper procedure. We also tried to inquire the organization which has similar research. They send us some valuable information enthusiastically and gave us a lot of advices and encouragement, which help us a lot. After rearranging the information, we presented it on the web page the best we can. Hope it can be some of help.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

During the process, we started data collection, searching through Internet, and library research. Through these, we learned the impulse of new age, and the latest trend of our society. Besides these advantages, what changed us most is that we acquire the ability of how to use proper tool and the active attitude in learning. We strongly believe the research project can be used as teaching materials, and our hard working can also be the role model for our schoolmates.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Besides the team members, our seniors at school, guiding teacher and friends¡¦ parents have also given us many constructive advices and encouragement. And as for the homeroom teacher and parents who trust us and help us to be available on the project, we render our deepest appreciation. Regarding the friends who lent us equipments, ran errands for us, or provided various viewpoints, which may not all be useful, but we thank them just the same. And some friends who we may not even know their names or the Internet, we thank them, too, for their moral support.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

The greatest lesson we learned this time is job and time allocation. This time, comparing with other groups, we have more team members. Even though it is said ¡¥the more the merrier,¡¨ we have more problems on job assignment, communication, cooperation, and time allocation. Basically building up web pages doesn¡¦t require too many members. But with proper division of job, it will increase efficiency a lot. When we first recruit team members, due to no upper limitation of its members, we recruited a lot more than we need. Besides this, we did not screen for the right candidates. Problems such as disagreement, members turn against each others, occurred. These almost took away our confidence. But fortunately, we overcome all the problems and finished our project. It may not be perfect. But we surely did our best.
