Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Military compound depende is a place which has its own culture and organization in our nation.So it is a interesting study for exploring. We choosed two Military compound dependents on focus.They are a kind of village with dependents group,and be built in 1949.There are office station,amusement park,school,market,and post office there.We think they are typical examples of Taiwan Military Compound Dependents.

2. Summary of Our Project

Two Military Compound Depemdents of development histories of autonomy,and study the culture,literature,cutural projects,and common growth experience of Military Compound Dependents.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

In our interview,some residents didn¡¦t want to tell us anything.But after our explanation,most of them would like to cooperate. Some members of our groups spend too much time to readind books,loking for data.We face some schoolwork pressure at the time. Besides,some residents in the military village dependents reject to answer questions.In that case,we just treated them with respect

Despite that the Military Compound Dependents might be rebuilt.It will show us a new feature.Because our record,the data could provide people for a consideration.A story about a village-a disappearing village.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

School contact with community is our common hopes. And it comes true. Project Elements

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We use telephones and e-mail staying in touch with cyberfair,and use camera and tape recorders for our interview or oral interview. After that we submitted our project into web site.Computers are not useful as we though,reverse,computer is only a tool for compilation.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

Students Chang-Ling Huang lives in Her-chyun village.Her duty are about consultation with main people and report local situation.She is really helpful for our project. On the other hand,we also get helps and favors from stragers.Our ¡©ambassador¡ª get a permit of using data.We all thank to students Chang-Ling Huang for her hard work.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Though CyberFair Project Narrative. We really have changed our toughs about the Military Village Dependents, and known more history, article, culture, and future development about our local community. Although we have so many frustrations, we still keep going. Because the Military Village Dependents will be knock down soon. Most of the residents would like to provide their own experiences. So we do appreciate their helps. Besides, we discovered that many people with talented were cover up in Military Village Dependents. It's a pity.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

Helper in the project: Students¡¦ parents,village head,residents in military compound dependents,teachers,and students so on¡K ¡K

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

The worth of Military Village Dependents could be recorded by our project. The kind of village will be rebuilt soon, so publics should put more emphasize on it. The background of Military Village Dependents is an internal struggle. The struggle brought too many tragedies then. Some people dead, some family broken up so on. We have learned a lesson from the stage history-people should stop fighting anyway.
