1. Description of Our Community

Touwu country is located on the center part of Miaoli country in Taiwan R.O.C. It is subtropical climate. southern-west wind. There are several rivers flowing through it,and Ming Te Reservoir is situated at the middle of Lao Tiang Liao Stream.

Touwu is famous for its beautiful scenery and ¡©Tea¡ª. The odoriferous tea tastes very good ,so the fame of tea of Touwu spreads far and wide.

2. Summary of Our Project

¡©Tea¡ªis always an important part in Chinese drinking culture.

Because our school locates on Touwu Country where is famouse for the tea , we choose ¡©The feast of Tea ¡ªas our main topic.

We will introduce the source , kinds, apparatus of tea and ¡©Chia Tao¡ª. We emphasize on the foods made of tea and the befinits of drinking tea.

We deeply hope that our introduction of tea can appeal to many people to drink tea.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

This is the first time our school takes international homepage contest. We are not very familiar about a lot of details. It is very hard to translate the homepage from chinese to english. Thanks for Mrs. Chen ¡BMiss Huang and Mrs. Tang give us a lot of help. So we can finish the english homepage. The six students also look for a lot of informations hardily.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We are glad to attend the competition of homepage . We have finally finished our work with cooperation and learned much about the history,kids,apparatus and advantages of tea.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

Currently Taiwan education is implemening a nine-year program, which includes culture education. Tea leaves are our country's special product. When students have their computer classes, they can get onto the internet for tea information from the websites we created. Where they can learn about tea. This practize can bring closer the distance between the domestic culture and students.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

We used many tools,approaches,andinformation technology to create our websites,which include pens, papers, books, magazines, searching in the library and on the internet, computer, software, digital camaras, scanners.

Pens and papers are used to detail our related information . Digital camaras and scanners are used for getting some useful graphics. We also used some software such as Front Page98,Winword,Photo Impact for the web page development.

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

After we created the web pages,students and teachers all came to us for sharing the experience and learning.Families of our students and the society are also welcomed to log onto our website.Gladly,we have received some positive responses and encouragement from people and they even warmheartednessly offer us more information.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

Started from this year,government has enforced "two days leave per week" working rule. During the breaks, a lot of tourists came here for relayation . The beautiful tea gardens and fragrant teas will bring every tourists wonderful memories.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

In our country,people have strong ensibilities. They are so enthusiastic to help us. Any questions regarding the tea can be consulted and we really appreciat their assistance.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

What impressed our teachers as well as students is the fact that tea has thousand years of history. Drinking tea is good for our health. In fact, there are so many benefits about tea. We just mentioned a few in our website. Wiah you all join us to enjoy it and enjoy health.
