1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?
Most of literal material are collected by us and we would like to stress, all the materials are bits and pieces, so it is fairly difficult to put them together. Besides, since the first guiding teacher is the Director of Library, it provided us great convenience. In image materials, most of them were obtained by members of our team through interview and investigation¡IOne of it with particular significance is that we spread out when we are producing and is difficult to discuss when an idea came up, so one of our member opened up a Chat Room, specially for our team to facilitate the discussion. The following items are the tools used in the project: Flash 5.0, Computers, Corel Draw, TV set, WS FTP, Telephone, Front Page 2000, Digital Camera, Cute FTP 4.0, Conventional Camera, Netscape 4.5, Scanner.
2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.
Since the project area of our research are at adjacent to our school, so we adopt personal interview to visit each and every person or place. Therefore. Most of the photos of our project network pages are taken by ourselves. In order to avoid the disturbance to the offices, we advise them and secure their consent before we actually making the visit. Further interview is appointed in person. Besides, the teachers are the important communication channels. At each visit, we brought with us the illustration of the Expo and present Internet Expo orally, as well as out participation in the contest. Most of our contacts were highly interested and glad to assist.
3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?
We found that most of the residents in Panchiao has certain level of the local culture. The seniors are having good memory of one or the other event, through communications. When they know people are care about it, they all , like showing off their treasure, were glad to tell us. Even sometimes they provide you with direction for searching. Unfortunately, the younger generation is generally of less aware. When we inquired, there is string of question marks. Gladly, they all wanted to know and to understand together with us. I guess, the youngsters ought to be all like them. We should know our origin, our root. We should at least have certain knowledge of the environment we are in, with certain identification.
4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?
The officers we visited were all very enthusiastic in supplying materials from their private treasure, or the names, telephone numbers, addresses of related offices. In addition, though she is not the teacher of our school, wife of our second guiding teacher, voluntarily sought her classmates in primary school, who are descendents of Lin family, when she was aware of this research plan. It brought us a great help. Similarly, granny of our team member, Chien Chi(«Ø§Ó), who is somehow related to the descendents of Lin Family, offered us some valuable materials. All of them were highly passionate. ¡mMr. Li, Mu-Tseng, the second guiding teacher, spent almost one year to consolidate, to check the accuracy of historical and cultural materials tirelessly. We will express our thanks to Master Li, in the Special Gratitude column.¡n
5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)
The most valuable arts are beside you and the prettiest stories are just behind you. The culture existing in our environment is found only by know. Suddenly, we find that we are not great at all, and we have the feeling that we forgot our root. Fortunately, we have the chance to be grateful, allowing us to use our passion plus the technology so well developed to present to every one the surprising treasure and offer them the chance of being grateful. Let the senior generation who have long being waiting to pass the heritage have new hope and let everywhere in Taiwan immersed in the coalition of modern and traditional atmosphere.
