Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Our community is at the downtown area of Taipei city. There are many banks and commercial buildings here. Living conditions are very convenient. Most of chridren's parents are working on finance company, trading company or the shop. We are studying and living in an efficient, happy, and effective community.

2. Summary of Our Project

We are curious about where the running water from and how best water quality is. We tracked the water path and explored the origin and development of water. We also found an ancient irrigation path throughout the Taipei City. After exploration, we made a experiment of saving water, We tried to economize on water daily. We hope you will like this fascinating project. We aim the topic - water resource, and clear up the key points of possible questions. Then we find the solutions by searching the concerning data, visiting, investigating, and experimenting, ..., etc. The following is the structure of concept of this topic.

3. Our Computer and Internet Access

Except the basic technologies, such as video recording, photographing, scanning, and audio recording, we always used the tools are Internet Explorer, the web browser, Outlook express, Word2000, Frontpage2000, MS Painter, and Photoimpact5.0. We have learned how to digitize the data very much in this project, how to upload and download data, and how to send and receive the email by computer. We compressed the data regularly and use tools to modify the pictures beautifully. Finally we published all data on our homepage by Frontpage2000.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

1. All members are very interested in this water resource topic. But we found only few web site have water resource relations. We must build ourselves from the first hand of data, especially for exploring the monument, the old path of canal, it spent much time for us. We found a few pieces of old paths that still left now to do our observation, and this path information we got from old generation people told us. We hope more people can learn this old history memories, and we have duty to keep this treasure.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

Our parents help us to translate Chinese into English. And we did experiments togother in our family. It impacted our community very much.
