During the time of collecting information on Mr.Chu's works, our English teacher, Mr. Je-chen Lee, might be consider the one who makde painstaking efforts to initiate this project. Thanks to the teacher's home located in Mei-nung, the source of the information is mostly brought by him. It is tiresome job because it takes nearly two hours to travel to and fro. Furthermore, the other dedicator is Matt, who contacts everyone like a brain in the center. For instance, he has to call Mr. Chu in his leisure time for fear that he may interrupt his thoughts and inspiration. Otherwise, there will be a blame tumbling along, and then nothing doing.
3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?
The monographic study plan brought us a lot of impact and influence. At first our school expected us a lot and was willing to provide funds to reduce our expenditure. A lot of instruments and funds were supplied by our school, and there was excellent accuracy with the instruments. So in many aspects, we all got nice results. The support of our teachers was also the main reason.
However, making the homepage also brought heavy effect to our study. In this kind of school which is full of competition, the study can't be ignored, but we expended much physical strength in order to make this homepage. So all of us were exhausted with our study and the making of the homepage. Although every one still has nice study grades, our achievements in lessons are more or less influenced by this plan. Fortunately, this success will comfort us, because it expresses that our toil wasn't expended uselessly. It's very important to win the price because no one wants to do without any remuneration.
4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?
At first when we make the homepage, we didn't know much about the ceramics. At the first time when we visited Mr. Chu Pan-Hsiung, we were obliged to the explanation of the Australia artist, Mr. Doug, so we could know the ceramics in the art. Because of it, we would know nothing about it. Of course, we also met troubles in the process, so we wrote E-mail to Mr. Chu and his second son to discuss the problems about ceramics. Mr. Chu was not often at home because of going aboard. Thanks to his wife providing the answers and explanations in time, we could obtain the perfect solutions and understand more easily. In our country, there are few people engaged in creating the ceramic art. Luckily We found a company about it on the Internet, which is engaged in this kind of enterprise. We also wrote e-mail to ask them some questions. Luckily, we acquired the satisfying answers. The above are those who helped us a lot. There are still others who have helped us, but we can't mention them one by one. Anyway we all thank them very much.
5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)
The kaolin is really an interesting thing and full of varieties. Before visiting the outstanding person in the Wall Tile Public Art, we seemed never to find that the kaolin was so marvelous. If the kaolin was headed up with different kinds of temperature, at last, the kaolin showed different qualities of materials and luster. So it gave people a unique special flavor from the other works of art. The Wall Tile Public Art brought us a forceful and blazing feeling. When we touched it, we would feel an enthusiasm from our hands to our minds. It was a respectable enthusiasm brimming from the artist s craving to his works of art. When we admired them, we could feel it. We all believed that we never ran into so astonishing works of art before we visited Mr. Chu. Its beauty was hard to be described by the words.
