Project Overview

1. Description of Our Community

Mashing the community is located the most northern part of Shioushuei Shiang town,the Changhua city which is a small scaled community of the agriculture. Although is simple and honest region of the country, a lot of talented persons concentrates in this place. These outstanding personage also would like to the place of the service, the village neighborhood of the contribution, all without exception activity of the school or Activity of old man's meeting , they also provide the funds and their ability supporting exactly.There is place of the genuine human warmth.

2. Summary of Our Project

Wu Hsin Shan the Sir once serve as the Parent's chief of association of Mashing Elementary school, promoting to give to school administration of the school to support strongly. The chief of association of Wu is at community and interest who is own toward schools all is with all one's heart, at oneself of business stability growth after, did not give up in spite of argil,carvings calligraphy,China knot,and oil painting etc.s have all research, works are also wonderful,it make person do not wanting to put it away.The chief of association of Wu is really a versatile middleaged man , more rare of is his reasonable and easy to get along with, having no the bureaucrat, therefore we decide to visit the local artist.

4. Problems We Had To Overcome

Mr. Wu's business is very busy, the arrangement in time can hardly control. Besides taking photos of his works also has a little the difficulty, It is not Mr. Wu would not like to let us take photos, just we have a little embarrassed in taking out and putting back the pots that have be put on good position.

5. Our Project Sound Bite

We are feeling the profession of his art, also respect and admire him to want to give something back to the village neighborhood very much in the process of the interview. He also want to make the talent and interest people in art together and good combining, bring the custom of the art of the community to move, promote the quality of the spiritual life of the people of this area.

6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

We wish that by this way, our next generation with understand what we have done and become a part of his life. Now a day people like to talk about globalization, but how to let our next generation remember our own culture is as important as globalization is not a total solution. Mr. Wu's art is the combination of the local culture. We should introduce it to the public. By the chance, this time, we can tell people about own life and won local artist as well.

1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?

.The interview of the oral communication .Internet .Digital camera, DV .Scanner .Software:PhotoImpact 7、FrontPage 2000、Flash 5、Cuteftp…

2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.

The teacher of Shih wants to share her teaching inside three villages of all countries in the begining, and there are introduction of representative's person of the region of the community. She also like the pottery very much, hence the other teachers and students of the pottery interest come to complete this work together by her predominance.

3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?

We make our students interest in manufacture of pottery, but the age of the students are so different, it is hard to design a lesson for all age . But there are many teachers learning pottery in Mr. Wu's house on night time, the teachers are the best "spreader". They can introduce and teach pottery to more students , the students can influence their parents, and it fill up the art ethos of pottery in our all community finally.

4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?

We thank the madam of the Mr. Wu particularly, in addition to providing the tea , drinks and the dessert to invite us, still found the photograph and written form data that we need in the cupboard specially. And we thanks for all parents of the students who participate the activity, they can match with our degree of progress of the work and process, and send their children home in the afternoon.

5) Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises (Optional)

Although from finding the topic to manufacturing to complete the web pages is very tiring, it is very good in feeling the cooperation of teachers and the students step by step, we also understand the painstaking of basic practices and perseverance of an artist , the difficult process of manufacturing a complete works, it is like that we do the web pages, from none to all, probably each matter sees simple, but must pay the mental exertion to complete it in the world.
